Even with the ludicrous focus on 'never batted an eye' it can be shown that was the case. Even one Legislator proudly proclaimed 'Fry the yellow /edited/ !!!' Not to mention the firebombings in Tokyo. Other Wright attackers may want to jump in before this gets any more embarrassing for your side of the fence.
First of all , it was offensive for him to even suggest a moral equivalency in the first place. One was an unprovoked terrorist attack. The other was an effort to end a long and brutal war with a minimal of casualties on both sides. How is it ludicrous to take issue with Wright's implying that the US never anguished over the decision to use the atom bomb and it's aftermath?
