Update on my mom......

I saw my mom and she is looking and acting so much like her old self. Even started bossing me around.

They believe that my mom had a couple of things going wrong at the same time. Her potassium was too high which was causing her kidneys to not work properly. They are starting to think that one of her newer medications (she takes over 26 different meds a day) was to blame for the short term memory loss and the slurring of her words.

I really appreciate all the prayers from everyone.

Rosey I'm glad she is her old self again.

Hey CC&E.....try Clarks. I was unable to wear dress/casual shoes for about 10 years, could only wear expensive running shoes with arch supports because of my fallen arches and knee problems. I lost weight and had the knee replaced. Went searching for a nice pair of shoes for work, with no heel and had to be comfortable. I went into Boscov's shoe department where I met a really nice lady in the shoe department. Told her about my problem and she recommended Clarks. They are the most comfortable shoes in the world. They are cheaper at Boscov's that at a Clarks' store at the mall. I wait for them to go on sale. Definately worth the money. My first pair of Clarks lasted a year and I wore them every day. They run about $45 - $60 a pair.

I haven't made it out of the house yet, but I'll look into the Clark's. I was also going to the Easy Spirit store.

I am extremely frustrated, I have been trying to open an appeal with my insurance company because I was denied coverage for a drug that my doctor would like to treat me with. It is not approved for my disease however, it is currently in clinical trials and has been very successful. What I found out today: insurance company has no record of any request for authorization of treatment, therefore there has been no denial of coverage. Who dropped the ball? I am trying to have grace as I deal with all these people. I need to be firm and make sure they do what needs to be done without being mean and nasty but right now, mean and nasty is how I feel.

Rosey, I am glad to hear that your mom is better today and that the doctors seem to know what the problem was. Will continue to pray for her recovery.

Don't laugh ...................... Crocs are soooooo good for your feet! When we went to Disney World, by the end of the first day, my feet were burning so badly that I didn't know how I would make it through the rest of the day, let alone the rest of the week, so I broke down and bought some Crocs, and within minutes, my feet felt like they hadn't hurt all day, and I wore them the rest of the week and didn't have any further problems.

My sister loves her Crocs! I was looking for something that I could wear to dinner, casual but nicer than a tennis shoe.

That is great news Rosey, I'm glad to hear it. I hope they're adjusting the meds so the problem won't repeat itself.

Just popping in to say that my work life is intruding on me again, and I won't be around much for the next few weeks (though I'll try). So if you don't see me, don't worry, I'm just caught in the throes of real life stuff.

I have 2 pair of Holey Soles which are similar to the Mary Jane style of Crocs and I love them. Someone told me nurses weren't allowed to wear them because they tracked germs around the hospital - did they find a way around that problem?

I don't see why Crocs would track bacteria any worse than any other shoe. That's odd. Aside from the warmth factor, I'd wear Crocs to work if I was still working. I wore clogs for years, and they had rubber soles and I loved them, but they weren't as comfortable as the Crocs are.

I LIVE in my clogs lol (but of course they don't work well with my favorite summer croppy pants.

The sermons at the churches must not be that good lately. I can usually tell if it's a good sermon by the fingernail clippings on the floor. *being serious about that too*
