  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm out of repability until lunch - but will give folks a boost then

now - off to work

LOL!!!!!

Edie, I just love you!

To add to the list--a good way to be repped is to rep yourself, even multi-rep if the person you are responding to has a lot more rep power than you.

I also like to pray for those I am repping--or even pray through a thread. Well, yes, I know this has nothing to do with getting reps, but I believe that we can be a blessing wherever we go.

Be blessed!

A bleery-eyed good morning, All!

I don't have any reps till after lunch...waaaa! I love giving reps as much as I love receiving them!!!

CC&E

I'm with you -- not having reps to give out is an awful feeling

I know the feeling! But not to worry, the reps, they come back ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

I'm off to find comfortable shoes for walking around France. I have a connective tissue disease and I need something very supportive. I have a very good pr of sneakers but they are ugly and I was hoping to find something that I could wear from the hotel to dinner and back, but so far I haven't. I may end up with "glorified tennis shoes" -- you know, the leather kind that just slightly dress up the sneaker.

The other part is that I just hate spending tons of $ on shoes (or anything for that matter). I guess I need to get over it!

CC&E

CCE, I used to feel the same way about spending money on shoes, but reconsidered when I began running. It's worth it, so much worth it to have shoes the fit well and support your feet.

Your trip to France sounds awesome. I hope you find something comfortable!

Calm, I hope you have a SUPER trip to France!! How exciting.
I agree with Ariel, our shoes are SUPER important, and I used to be the same with going cheap on shoes. But until I started jogging, I didn't realize how important a good pair of shoes really are. They are our foundation.

I spend $$ on what's important then go CHEAPY CHEAP on stuff that doesn't matter and try to offset things that way.

Ariel, I hope you dont mind that I added Patrick Swayze's pancreatic cancer to the prayer list - I realize he isn't on CF here, but he needs our prayers for healing and salvation all the same and I hope we remember his possible fear and worry over this diagnosis.
I feel so horrible for him.

Nadiine--I don't mind at all. (((HUGS)))

Be blessed, dear one!

Hi there all! :hug::hug:
I've come with thankyou reps and random reps!
YAY!!!

And a Proverb to go with:

Proverbs 2:7-9
He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
He keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints. Then shall you
understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Hi everyone...Nothing new on my mom. The doctors have been in to see her. She is really mumbling her words so I am having trouble understanding what she is saying.

Today at work the training went really well. I overheard the one person telling someone how they really liked me and wanted me on their team. This is really great news, cause I was offered to work from home and I would be working with this team off site. They were really nice and very friendly.

I really felt everyone's prayers and love coming my way.

Hey CC&E.....try Clarks. I was unable to wear dress/casual shoes for about 10 years, could only wear expensive running shoes with arch supports because of my fallen arches and knee problems. I lost weight and had the knee replaced. Went searching for a nice pair of shoes for work, with no heel and had to be comfortable. I went into Boscov's shoe department where I met a really nice lady in the shoe department. Told her about my problem and she recommended Clarks. They are the most comfortable shoes in the world. They are cheaper at Boscov's that at a Clarks' store at the mall. I wait for them to go on sale. Definately worth the money. My first pair of Clarks lasted a year and I wore them every day. They run about $45 - $60 a pair.

Don't laugh ...................... Crocs are soooooo good for your feet! When we went to Disney World, by the end of the first day, my feet were burning so badly that I didn't know how I would make it through the rest of the day, let alone the rest of the week, so I broke down and bought some Crocs, and within minutes, my feet felt like they hadn't hurt all day, and I wore them the rest of the week and didn't have any further problems.

Update on my mom......

I saw my mom and she is looking and acting so much like her old self. Even started bossing me around.

They believe that my mom had a couple of things going wrong at the same time. Her potassium was too high which was causing her kidneys to not work properly. They are starting to think that one of her newer medications (she takes over 26 different meds a day) was to blame for the short term memory loss and the slurring of her words.

I really appreciate all the prayers from everyone.
