Personally I try to avoid the sections where the trolls hang out and I never go to the debate or GA or GT sections because I fear the effect it would have on my blood pressure! I also avoid the "nondenominational" section because there are a couple of people there who seem to go out of their way to pick fights.

k - my turn to vent.... it's just so sad that this is the busiest thread in the forum these days!

Just caught up with this, but wanted to straighten the story out and let you guys know that the thread was deleted because it was posted in something like 23 forums. The initial response was because staff thought they had a troll on their hands.

After some explanations were given, each forum she posted in was given permission to do what they wanted with the thread.

Her thread wasn't deleted because of the content, not by a long shot, and a big discussion also ensued over how much regulation CF has over usernames. So it did have a somewhat positive effect.

It's not just atheists either Preachers Wife. Last week a Christian posted a thread objecting to allowing people with usernames like "Lucifer" and an equally offensive, indeed blasphemous handle to join CF and her thread was immediately deleted. So it's not just atheists we have to be "tolerant" towards.

Too bad they don't act as quickly on the liberal or atheist trolls. For example as far as I know nothing has been done about the nasty troll in the nondenominational forum!

I personally think that the terms "liberal" and "conservative" have absolutely
no place being attached to "Christian". I don't believe there is a such thing as a
conservative or a liberal Christian. I believe we either believe we are to be
obedient or we do not. We either stand fast holding to the Word of Truth,
or we don't. We either follow after the carnal world and carnal nature
or after the Spirit. I believe political "tags" should remain in the political arena.
I think it is ridiculous for some "Christians" to attack other ones because they
DO believe and follow and stand firm on the Word of God. It is ludicrous.
But that of course is just my two-cent opinion.

I am sitting here in tears because it has come to my attention that someone reported a thread I made in another section of this board. The reason given by this person was "the title needs editing". I honestly don't know what the problem is with the title and if this person had come to me and asked me to change the title and explained what they thought was the problem with it I would gladly have changed it. Instead they went behind my back and reported me and now all the mods are on my case and probably have me down as a troublemaker. Why do people have to be so petty on a supposedly Christian board.

Don't worry about it, sweetie - it will probably not come to anything!
And I'm sure no one will think you're a troublemaker!
Sometimes people report things just to bring them to the attention of the mods if they need help.
You can't actually edit a thread title yourself, so it may just be that someone has noticed a typo and is trying to help you!


It's a message board, sis, there will always be people who are not very charitable, but at the end of the day, if you are following Jesus, the rest really doesn't matter!
Why don't you come and chat in the fellowship thread?

My thread was meant to bring attention to something that I felt desperately needed prayer in my country and I honestly can't see what the problem was with it especially as I used the exact same title in a post on another Christian board and no one objected. In fact when I asked the Mods about it one of them told me they saw no problem with my title. I saw no problem with yours either Criada. IMO some people just have too much time on their hands. :o

I am sorry you got reported for that thread title. I doubt the mods think you are a trouble maker - it takes more than 1 report to create that impression. Please don't leave.

I know you are upset but maybe if you PM the mods involved and talk to them, they can explain further. Just a reminder though that it is against the rules to discuss reports and / or mod actions in the forum (I don't want you to get in trouble )

The liberals are the least of my problems at the moment. I've just had to leave another Christian board because me and a friend got into an argument with some people there because we actually dared to disagree with the tactics of someone's favourite preachers. (I won't say who they are but they are the sort who IMO lay a lot of guilt on struggling Christians because of their theory that if you are not living a near perfect life you probably aren't saved). In the end we were both talked to in a very condescending way and ganged up on. I also had hints dropped on me that I probably wasn't saved and the way I came to the Lord did not count because it didn't involve fear (For the record I came to Him because I wanted, no needed Jesus in my life ). This and what happened elsewhere on this board has made me heart sick and angry. Why can't we Christians love each other instead of judging and attacking each other all the time?
