  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are any of the Church's you mentioned Church's of God? I'm not talking about the (Church Of God) denomination. For instance, as far as I know the UCC Church which you mentioned allows for homosexuals to become clergy, right? In my book that isn't a real Church any longer. It's a pseudo Church. I'm not surprised such denominations would use that or any other occult material.

I don't consider any denomination that ordinates gays as a Christian Church. Doesn't the UCC ordain gays?

Doesn't the UCC promote same sex marriage? If so, not a Christian organization.

Apart from the second link, which I seem to not be able to see anything there pertaining to Harry Potter, the links (I have read one of them before) give us the idea that there is a spiritual component to HP. We already know this fact. The spiritual component is not Christian. There is nothing Christian in the books nor is there anything Christian taught from it. There are spiritual parallels, but they omit Jeus Christ. Even in the interview with Rowlings, she cannot make any inference to Jesus in any of her remarks.

Wishy washy churches are the ones who would use material based on HP for their precious children. What a lame attempt toi teach children to be discerning and critically thinking about what is appropriate for their eyes and minds to feast on! Bad job, bad job.

I think the reason for that is that the spirit behind the works is a spirit that is not of God and cannot even utter the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What does being drunk have to do with being homosexual?
There are homosexuals that refrain from booze and illegal drugs for that matter just as there are heterosexuals who partake...
Drunkeness is a sin, fornication is a sin, homosexuality falls under the category of fornication. So, it's no surprise if a church supports reading books that supports the occult if that Church also supports known sins as well.

First someone reported that...why I have no idea

Secondly...no Church that I know of supports sin...instead they support sinners...and what I mean by that is they help guide them off the path of sin and let them know that God does love them...
Jesus didnt turn his back on Sinners...intead he died for them...

Peace to you...
