CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I use Adobe Photoshop.... but only because I got it for use at time s with my business - otherwise it's a bit expensive.... but don't worry - you'll be able to do exactly the same with GIMP! How's it going?

Haven't even "read" it yet!!! Have a Christmas project started on my paint program so I wanted to get that done and out for my workers, then will jump into Gimp!!
How's it going?
So far can't figure out where my work space is on there, but as soon as I get reading it, sure I will find it.

I was looking at other legally free software for you to download.... and for creating things, I found Inkscape which I think may be much more suited to what you both want to do than GIMP.... You can find information at http://www.inkscape.org/doc/index.php?lang=en
The correct download link is at http://downloads.sourceforge.net/inkscape/Inkscape-0.45.1-1.win32.exe
There are also some tutorials on that site
