• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,
I was bullied a lot in high school. I thought stuff ended there. They say bullies pick the people who are loners. Spend time with friends and you might see it happening less. I wish I had known I could do that. Instead I studied martial arts and fought back, literally. I am glad for the knowledge but just making friends would have been easier.

I can't say I was bullied in high school, but maybe teased. Trying to just fit in is a huge problem anywhere, I know. Will certainly pray for you. Bullying anyone, especially those with disabilities, is certainly reprehensible. :crosseo:

This is a broken world we live in. :(

im sorry you are bullied for your disability. I have been bullied but i never have been in a situation like yours. the only thing i can offer is that you try to just let things go. learn to forgive and love others, even if they dont say they are sorry. remember our Lord said "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins" Mark chapter 11 vs 25

it is important to move on and to let things go. people can be mean. i used to be one of those people and trust me, i look back now and deeply regret my actions. let the Lord work His ways. pray for peace of mind and patience. PM me whenever needed, im hoping for the best for you

love

I was bullied a lot in middle school, mostly because I was quiet and "different" (I'd transferred to a public school in 7th grade after finishing Catholic school), and the way I coped with it was praying, and taking my troubles to God, and not letting those who bullied me get to me (or to not let them see that they got to me). It was hard, but I survived it. :)

I've spent alot of time on both sides of the horns on this subject, and let me says It always felt better to bully than to be bullied..
having said that I know how empty your bully is inside... I know it's hard to think of the guy holding your head in an open toilet as being anything but weak, cowardly, or afraid, but I know When I hit up my "victims" the hardest it was just after a beating my old man may had given me. (weather I deserved it or not) Or if the young man down the street decided he was in need of the "weed" and decided to see how many heart punches I could take before giving up my lunch money..lol those days were always a double wammy for me, because when my dad found out he beat for getting beat..
So instead of killing small animals and setting fires (joke) I picked on smaller kids, with noone to defend them.. Bullies are people too And Jesus loves them as he loves you.. remember to pray for them and ask god to watch over and protect them (not to keep them safe there by leaving them no reason to beat on you) but because That what we are supposed to do..
To endure hardships and pray for the who persicute us.
If you let it this can be a dark destructive chapter in your life or it can be an awsome source of strength and a place of tempering for your mind spirit and soul.. It's all on what you decide to do with this trial.. and belive little brother this is one of many (trials) you will have in life (lord willing)

Good luck and God bless
