  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay, last post on the rulz...I just heard that they are opening reports up to the person who gets reported.

So, in saying that, my ever cheerful and positive outlook says to try and give this all a chance. I am not holding my breath, but lets talk about something new.

New subject:

What lessons have you learned from the Conservative Christians debacle?

I have learned to stay close to God. I have learned that EVERYONE including myself has an agenda and a bias. I have learned that broad brush painting is not a good idea. I have learned that those who appear nice on the surface may be counterfeit and those who are harsh-sounding probably have a heart of gold if you look beyond the posting style. I have learned that freedom of speech is precious.

What else?

Lisa
I learned not to waste so much time trying fix anything here, that's one of the most important things - people who try to fix anything get attacked & silenced & the signs look bleak for a good future.

I also learned who not to trust.... just for starters.

Indeed. I also learned (much later than most, perhaps) that this site's intimate connection with an athiest website explains much of what is going on these days.

Karrie doll, you are the rare exception to the rule! I am reading over at IIBD..HOLY smokes. Makes one wonder sometimes..
It should make alot of people wonder Called. Most alarmingly, it doesn't make the KEY people "wonder" what they should be wondering to deal with the problem.

And they wonder why people are cynical and irritated. As far as I'm concerned at this point, the best way to be happy happy here is to be a nonquestioning minion who's oblivious to anything going on or become Staff so you're on the top.

That combination will keep this place going longer.

And they wonder why people are cynical and irritated around this place. As far as I'm concerned at this point, the best way to be happy happy here is to be a nonquestioning minion who's oblivious to what's actually going on, or become Staff so you're on the top.

That combination will keep this place going awhile longer.
I hear you. I was shocked to see who was there...and how they post there vs how they are here. AMAZING to me.

It does give you food for thought. It also explains much about how this board is run and who's influence it is under.

It disturbs me. I have seen things as a Mod that has surprised me and has caused me to pause and reconsider.

Hey Called...don't put all of us leaders in that group. :)

I hope you don't mind that this soon to be full fledged MOD would like to join ya'll.
Karrie I think you'll be a wonderful Mod.
I think I speak for many others who are angry w/ these changes when I say we are NOT against all moderators - we do have respect for some who clearly have no agenda, bias or power trips.
They do exist here and I'm very thankful for them! (I think we need to make that fact clear in any complaints about 4U's issues).

I am sure. What is this all about anyway? I mean...are leaders trying to mix light and dark? That is NOT scriptural...and won't work...I mean, what is really going on..especially in the Spiritual realm. I am sure there is alot to pause and think about. IF I didn't have so many good friends here and love to fellowship with, I wouldn't stay here! In fact, I am thinking heavily of leaving permenately. Not that that would make a lick of difference...but...I don't know. I sure don't get it.

I appreciate that very much. I know there have been some who do not want to see me in a leadership position. All I can say is that we are here for a reason.

It's hard not to misuse the power that has been given to you. You almost have to stop, breath in and out like Animal from the muppets, and then type a response.

It does remind me that we should ...

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. --Colossians 3:23

How do you decypher which is which on a board that prohibits you from declaring what's dark & light? And when the board opens its arms to Non Nicene Religions (for lack of being able to call it what I would)...??

Same for me really - I've found some great people here that I still enjoy hanging out with - when or if things get so bad in the near future, hopefully we'll be able to hang out on another forum out there or something.

When the top is what I see it is, then I'm not inclined to "fight" or work for it like I did over a month ago. It would be a senseless waste of good time and energy imho.

But there are things to enjoy here still - just have to search for them - keep moving around when one door closes up.

GOOD question. Doesn't the Bible say that in the end times, some will call good evil and evil good? We are seeing that alot here. It is crazy.

I agree..there are a couple good fellowship areas I hang out in. I stay out of most other areas now...ha, for instance, I used to be heavy into the GT area...I quit..cause it was the same stuff over and over. I go back a few months later...and it is STILL the same arguments going on. The major thing is...NO one listens..most talk past each other...I think that is in a lot of areas now...the talking past each other.

Right, they aren't "seeking", they're skeptics arguing against traditional Christian teachings.
I was just over there 2 wks ago & finally left. The bible tells us who to quit casting pearls to - those who refuse to listen and turn to tear YOU to pieces are who we're to stop witnessing to.
Instead, we FUEL those bonfires instead of allowing them to die out like they should (we're equally responsible to know when to QUIT)... but we don't.
Somehow people seem to think if you :preach: :preach: :preach: enuff that they'll miraculously "hear" our words & convert. But the opposite is true of those types & it's why we're called to close our bibles up & LEAVE THEM. (shake the dust from the city and take your peace with you).
Some of this imho is Christian's faults who don't know when to stop.

GT used to be a nice area to discuss in till Erwin's changes... added with the fact that MANY of our bible believing Christian left the site when they saw the writing on the wall...
And now all this new 'structure' added on.
:help: :swoon:
