That's a change from before when they appeared on every post the user made. :)

I need to do some checking, cuz I may end up being a liar. :o

I checked a couple of profiles that I thought were sure to have some notes and didn't see them in either the posts or the profile. Right now, I'm confuzzled. I coulda sworn they were going to be in the profiles.

Well, it's not my character to be negative or complain or carry anger, but all this new crap has just turned me cynical & angry and I have little to happily fellowship about when I feel like in prison under a microscope so I will not be posting much anymore on this site.

Thanks nyj;
For the record I did as you suggested and there is evidence all over the internet to back up Steve's assertion. Have you done so? It is prolific.
yes I have Jtb, I passed another link thru pm's. Anybody reading them should be alarmed. Sorry but I'll get my spiritual counsel from a qualified Pastor in real life. Nowhere else!

Usernotes, whenever they make their appearance will be showing up on every post.
Yay! So when someone says "My reputation precedes me." chances are, they'll be right.

However, they will take some coding, because Erwin used that column for something else, so they aren't live.
Why not spend the time in more constructive ways, like giving people tools to tailor their own FU experience (by giving them options to ignore specific signatures, avatars, posts, threads, etc etc)?

excellent point - I'd LOVE if I could just ignore entire threads or sections I choose to bypass.

You can already make your settings to ignore images in people's signatures tho...

Yes, but those options are "all or nothing". You either have to ignore all images in all signatures, or you have to see all images in all signatures.

They should give us an option to ignore specific signatures, and specific avatars ... etc etc.

Okay, last post on the rulz...I just heard that they are opening reports up to the person who gets reported.

So, in saying that, my ever cheerful and positive outlook says to try and give this all a chance. I am not holding my breath, but lets talk about something new.

New subject:

What lessons have you learned from the Conservative Christians debacle?

I have learned to stay close to God. I have learned that EVERYONE including myself has an agenda and a bias. I have learned that broad brush painting is not a good idea. I have learned that those who appear nice on the surface may be counterfeit and those who are harsh-sounding probably have a heart of gold if you look beyond the posting style. I have learned that freedom of speech is precious.

What else?

Usernotes aren't a done deal as far as I know. The idea is still being explored. The best thing to do right now would be to lobby for strict staff protocol about their usage, assuming their use can't be prevented altogether.

What good would that do? I wouldn't know if there were any abuses, so I wouldn't be able to bring such abuses to light. Who's watching the watchers?

And before anyone wants to throw in my face "Well, you were on staff when user notes first came about." I'll gladly point out that I was against them when they were first made available, unannounced and unrequested, to staff. I never used them, and I think they're a bad idea all-around. Their potential for abuse, greatly outweighs their benefit.
