Does anyone know if WWMC raged war against The Baptist or Fundamentalist Forum prior to CCC being formed?

WWMC was created as a counter to the Fundie Forum. When Fundie was created there was a great hue and cry from the liberals who couldn't stand that they had nowhere to post. They had some sort of forum under the non-Christian area (yep, CF was that un-PC at the time) but wanted under Christian Only. So they got that - WWMC - and then wanted to allow non-Christians to join in under CO. Pardonez moi? Ummm, you had that area already - why not go back to it. Anyhoooo, WWMC was created to "balance" the Fundie Forum!

Yeah, I felt that they were extremely fair. They said that I had broken the probation rules in some of my posts, but since I had not received any warning or any PM attempting to counsel me, it was unfair that I receive and infraction. I do not know 100% yet that it will be reversed, but they said they would be talking to Jo about it. I feel that Jo will probably agree to it.

I felt good about how it went. It has felt as if no one was listening for awhile now, and I really, really appreciated how well they considered both sides. That is all that I have ever asked from anyone.

I think I am going to sign back in. The mods just posted a thread that said that non-members could not debate and any debate posts would be deleted. They are also talking about a Conservative Icon.

I think you/we oughta wait until well after the probation thing is over and see what is cooked up next by management~they seem determined to create some sorta quiet & compliant group there; jump in too quick and you'll just be jumpin out again. Some of those admin/mod folks are...questionable, and one in particular seems to be enjoying stepping upon that forum.

I don't really want to rejoin there for now Lisa. You feel free to do what you want tho. I'm happy to hear that there's some fair consideration going on, but I'll be happy when it is formally reversed for you... it still doesn't "fix" the problems there unfortunately.

Things change there about daily & there's still plenty of things that can happen yet; I think it's been quiet becuz there's hardly any activity - I'm just not ready to hop back into the pot so soon.

That's basically why I'm not jumping back in - things changed on a daily basis w/ new members coming in - on top of other things and honestly, I'm done trying to shape that place.
when the dust settles I'll reconsider & only if most of the people that left there sign back in too.
Otherwise, I'm going to stay active elsewhere.

I have no idea... I knew he had that fsb & I figured he was just offline doing things he needed to do - it's quiet without him around isn't it?
I'm sure he's just busy with real life stuff, I know I have been & it's nice to get more things done & be productive!

You know we only need ten members to form our own congregation. Again, this is too early to even think about really. Just throwing it out there.

That is not entirely correct. WWMC was not intended to counter-balance the Fundamentalist Churches forum but to provide an area where anyone who didn't feel that they had a safe haven to post in had one. The Fundamentalists in Fundamentalists Churches have never really had any influence on CF and when WWMC was put together some of those putting it together even asked for advice. Like I posted before there has been some back and forth bickering but it really wasn't a confrontational/ tipping the balance sort of situation.

I will not be rejoining anytime soon but after the probation is over I will probably post fellowship posts and I hope to start a dialog with Jim47 and Flaglady about how best to serve the interests of the members of CC while still conforming to Foru.ms rules. I especially hope to address the issues of continuity, accountability, and fairness. I also hope to discuss the issues we have with specific individuals who it seems to me intend to submarine the board. I intend to do this as a member so don't worry I am not campaigning to be staff again.

But perhaps no one will listen and we will still have our little member club over here.

What was strange about it was, they made it a 7 day fsb... not just 24 hrs.
Don't ask me where that came from - I don't recall that in the cc guidelines at all.

I think prevalent information was already provided to them and they're ignoring all of it, so I think you'de be spinning your wheels going that route.
