From the national Geographic
According to Earth's geologic record, our planet's magnetic field flips, on average, about once every 200,000 years. The time between reversals varies widely, however. The last time Earth's magnetic field flipped was about 780,000 years ago.

We hear the magnetic field today looks like it is decreasing and might reverse. What we don't hear is it is on a time scale of thousands of years," Glatzmaier said. "It's nothing we'll experience in our lifetime."
But several generations from now, humans just may witness a reversal. By then, Glatzmaier said, scientists will better understand the process and be prepared to cope with the effects.

read it, don't agree with their premise or conclusions....
Do all magnets lose strength with time or is the earth's magnet somehow different?

Next you will be telling me the sun is not getting smaller or the moon is not moving away from the earth or that the earth's spin on its axis is not slowing down.

Yes, 'secular' eschatology is becoming very popular, what with global warming and stuff
I believe that the earth goes through cycles of warming and cycles of cooling. It always has. But I do not believe mankind causes it and I don't buy into the money-making, slickly marketed 'Global Warming' political agenda.

The whole 'Global Warming' movement is highly suspicious from what I know about it. I definitely don't beleive the worst of the predictions.

I Worry about the environment, but I don't worry about global warming.

JM

I don't know, it is pretty undeniable that humankind is making a destructive impact on the environment and that it is approaching critical levels. I do believe that we can develope the right technology to help sustain life on the earth, but it doesn't fall in line with the industrial capitalist agenda of short sighted profit at all costs. Set aside the hype of global warming, we are still destroying this earth, we are not acting as stewards over it.

I guess it all depends on who you listen to and who you believe.

Listen to the earth! Look at all the extinct animals, the massive logging in southeast asia and south america, look at the poluted atmosphere above china, america, the acid rain in europe, the fallout from disasters like chernobyl, attacks like hiroshima etc, the destruction of the great barrier reef coral by pest starfish that came from international shipping vessels.....Go and look at any colonial country and see the damage that has been done by the careless regard for our natural resources.

We were able to recognise our part in the ozone layer problem and then we were able to solve it. We need to do the same with other problems.

Well the message has not reached everyone yet. It is part of God's justice that everyone should hear the Good News before the Last Judgment.
Unfortunately, you have a false view of the human race. The Good News is that the race has been rescued and everyone is a member of the race in good and regular standing. Contemporay Christian theology completely negates the essentials of the gospel.
