All Foru.ms Rules will be based on the following Five Christian Principles:

The Two Greatest Commandments - Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)

Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' (No flaming, no trolling etc)
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Three Relevant Commandments from the Ten Commandments - Exodus 20:7,15-16 (NIV)
"You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God. (Respect the name of God and Jesus - no anti-Christ messages or images)
You shall not steal. (No illegal activities promoted, no copyright infringement, no contractual breaches etc)
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor."

The Five Christian Principles will provide overall guidance to staff and members in developing forum rules and enforcing those rules. Forum rules are developed collaboratively by staff and members and will basically be more detailed interpretations and expansion of the above principles. Forum rules may expand from the above principles and add things not covered by the above principles but the above principles cannot be contradicted. Forum rules should be developed with the above principles in mind with the focus on the vision of this site detailed here:

The above are non-negotiable principles that forum rules that are developed have to be consistent with. The above are not meant to be rules that are to be enforced - the specifics of how the above principles are to be enforced will form the forum rules.

Forum rules may expand from the above principles and add things not covered by the above principles but the above principles cannot be contradicted.

Good. I am beginning to be encouraged after seeing the contest for the slogans and pictures for the site. This announcement is greatly appreciated. Maybe, just maybe, it will mean that we Christians will have to rely on acting Christian to make this a Christian site.

I like it, thanks.

It's confusing that you say these are not rules to be enforced, but that enforceable rules should come from those principles. It should be both, especially while the rules are in a state of flux, so things don't get out of hand in the meantime.

Thank you Erwin---it's a good foundation to have at a Christian based site: God's Commandments. :)

I think what he may mean is that these are not actually rules that staff will moderate, but that the rules should reflect these Commandements. A rule that says you can call the Lord whatever you want in a particular forum would NOT be allowed for example. A rule that says flaming a particular group would not be allowed---these would go against the Commandments.

How about

"You shall have no other gods before Me."

I think it's covered..

" 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it..." ;)

Umm that's covered by Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

If you're doing that you can't have another god before God
