I wanted to comment on this verse from the beautiful sonnet Pennelope shared:

"Except You enthrall me, never shall be free,
Nor ever chaste, except you ravish me. "

In the illustrated I have posted the Bride is wrapping a chain around Jesus' arm. She is demonstrating that she has chosen Christ to be her one and only. She is claiming Him all for herself. This is what maidens did, especially in medievel times. They would tie a scarf around the beloved's arm or entwine a lock of their hair with a portion of clothing that belonged to their true love. It was known as the love knot.

Notice the picture. The Savior has His arms locked around the Bride forming His own love knot. We love Jesus because He first loved us, just like the verse from Pennelope's poem observes. We cannot love Jesus unless He first pursues us. Isn't that what He is doing daily?

Here is part of a sonnet Jesus gave me.

"So ardently she sought My gentle heart to claim,
To bind it with a cord and hold it fast with chains.
But the chains she sought to form are weak compared to Mine.
My chains are more powerful to hold and to bind.
Yea, even from eternity past,
I bound her to My heart and held her sure and fast!"

Jesus will never let go of His Bride!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful truth through your art, your sonnet, and your love of Him! He truly WILL never let go, isn't that simply the best news?

Hello have a great day each of you...I will continue to pray for each of you...Oh....To be just like Jesus.(but He is the only perfect one.).The world has never known a heart so pure, a character so flawless..His spiritual hearing was so keen he never missed a heavenly whisper..His mercy so abundant he never missed a chane to forgive..No like left his lips, no distraction marred his vision..He touched when others recoiled..He endured when others quit. Jesus is the ultimate model for every person....God urges you to fix your eyes upon Jesus..for...Heaven invites us to set the lens of our hearts on the heart of the Savior and make him the object of our lives...

This is sooo true! Jesus has all of these awesome virtues and more. He is the ultimate model. I suppose that's why He said "Apart from Me you can do nothing."
Who else can be Jesus but Jesus? :D Oh that we would yield to His grace so that He may live His life through His Bride!

Hi Amy Lisa! You make me laugh when you faint because of His love! That brings a huge smile to my face! ^_^

Hadessah Rose! I see your name is on the board. I have to run so let me say "Hi!" before I sign off.

Hello dear ones, precious in Him,

What a treat to be able to be able to spend some time in the "Beloved Jesus (2)" thread and then come over to enjoy "The Bride of Christ"! Really wonderful!

O my! What rich poems, pictures, verses, and fellowship is here. What a mercy and a blessing it is to have a captured heart, a heart of fervent, bridal, love that desperately longs for Him. How encouraging that we have been bound to His heart and He has been holding us there, sure and fast, since eternity past!

"Bridegroom, Bridegroom,
My beloved, please come soon.
I am waiting
Even as I sing this tune."

:amen: Yes, dear Bridegroom, please come soon. What a joy it will be on that day for all of us, who along with our dear brother Paul, are those who "love His appearing". O, to see Him face to face! What a sweet romance we have with Him today, but O!, what utter bliss for Him and for us there will be on that day, and continuing on for all of eternity future!

Quickly come, Beloved! The deep springs of our love await You!

The Bride thinks about Jesus and how she can minister to Him. What does Jesus long for today and how shall we answer Him! Here is a representation of the Bride offering Jesus a drink of water. Later a Roman centurion will come and prevent Christ from drinking the water. Just like the centurion the Evil One this day does not want us to give the Lord our devotion and worship but let's press through and adore Him today.

Jesus is thirsty for the Bride's love!

Dearest Sister Amy,

Amen. We "gotta see this picture"!

Thank you so much for sharing a picture of a male reprsentative of the Bride of Jesus. God in His sovereignty made us brothers to be males for this present age, but we brothers have also been espoused to Him as pure virgins, and we also are loving brides to Him, now and forever! It is hard to conceive of this at times, but His one basic desire for all of us, brothers and sisters, is the same - that we love Him, our dear Beloved, with the first love. Our eternal destiny is all exactly the same - to be His loving wife forever!

"The Bride thinks about Jesus and how she can minister to Him." :amen:
May He continually be our one, all-consuming desire! May our thoughts continually turn back to Him all throughout the day, each and every day. May ministering to Him be the one goal of all our daily living. May He strengthen us to press forward in the highest love for Him, despite the attacks and frustrations of the Evil One. Yes, dearest Jesus, in spite of all that may be happening in our lives, we choose to give You our devotion and worship, our adoration and love. We love You Jesus, dear Bridegroom!

Dear ones, altogether lovely in Him,

I have always been touched by the Bridal poetry in the lyrics to the hymn "The Sands of Time Are Sinking" by dear sister Anne R. Cousin. I am posting the verses to this hymn that really stir up a bridal love in me for our Beloved Jesus, our lovely, precious, Bridegroom. (There are 19 verses in total. All the lyrics can be seen at http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/s/a/sandtime.htm.)

This dear sister had a real longing for that day when we shall see our dear Bridegroom face-to-face and our deepest longings of love for Him wil be replaced by the highest intimacy and bliss! :swoon:

The sands of time are sinking,
The dawn of Heaven breaks;
The summer morn I’ve sighed for—
The fair, sweet morn awakes:
Dark, dark hath been the midnight,
But dayspring is at hand,
And glory, glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

The King there in His beauty,
Without a veil is seen:
It were a well spent journey,
Though seven deaths lay between:
The Lamb with His fair army,
Doth on Mount Zion stand,
And glory—glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

O Christ, He is the fountain,
The deep, sweet well of love!
The streams of earth I’ve tasted,
More deep I’ll drink above:
There to an ocean fullness,
His mercy doth expand,
And glory, glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

Soon shall the cup of glory
Wash down earth’s bitterest woes,
Soon shall the desert briar
Break into Eden’s rose;
The curse shall change to blessing
The name on earth that’s banned
Be graven on the white stone
In Immanuel’s land.

O I am my Beloved’s,
And my Beloved’s mine!
He brings a poor vile sinner
Into His “house of wine.”
I stand upon His merit—
I know no other stand,
Not even where glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

I shall sleep sound in Jesus,
Filled with His likeness rise,
To love and to adore Him,
To see Him with these eyes:
’Tween me and resurrection
But Paradise doth stand;
Then—then for glory dwelling
In Immanuel’s land.

The Bride eyes not her garment,
But her dear Bridegroom’s face;
I will not gaze at glory,
But on my King of grace.
Not at the crown He giveth ,
But on His pierced hand;
The Lamb is all the glory
Of Immanuel’s land.

- Anne R. Cousin, 1824-1906

Thank you so much, dear sister, for taking time to encourage us brothers. I really appreciate it.

Ben Hur! I knew the face of the man handing Jesus the cup of water looked familiar. What a precious scene.

I too love that poem. How refreshing to hear such language of love for the Bridegroom!

Ah the awesome, amazing, incredible, contageous JOY of Jesus! He rejoices over His Bride with singing. He rests in His love. He's sees the work already completed. He desires to impart to the Bride faith and vision. The areas that we find so difficult to overcome Jesus says, "Do you believe I can do this for you? If you have faith say to the mountain "move!" and it shall MOVE! Whatever you ask in My name I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Nothing is impossible with God.'' Jesus wants us to see how He sees us today. Dear Bride you all wholly beautiful to Him. You are complete in Christ. There is no spot or wrinkle in you. Jesus delights in you. He showers you with His grace.

You are His Queen in Gold! Let Him sweep you away in His love. He longs to show you who you REALLY are!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful picture, and your words. When we sometimes think about seeing through His eyes, we rarely consider seeing ourselves through His eyes. The joy and peace comes from seeing ourselves as "the work already completed." The blessed assurance of know Him and knowing that He is able!
And that through Him, I am able.

May this picture and these words cause someone today to praise His glorious name, disregarding the lying vanities of our circumstances, and spiritually relying on His promises:
Philippians 1:6 (KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
For we have to really know Him, what we are to Him, before we are confident of how He sees us. Holy Spirit, stir up our hearts and open our eyes to the love and beauty of Christ, in us. We thank you and praise you for giving us the opportunity to see you as Kiss sees you.

Your sister in love and in Him,
EarthMomma
