• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A new CF, an old vision (4)

 Spiritual pedophiles? Now, THAT is some good wordsmything. However, it was not the Nicene Creed that kept them out of here. It was God. Do you not believe that our Lord will protect those young lambs with or without the Nicene Creed? Perhaps, we shouldn't rely on the Nicene Creed as much as we should rely on older, mature Christians to watch over the new ones.

naa that couldn't of been the reason. There was no way for someone who wanted to cause trouble to click Christian when signing up, that would of been imposable.

The Nicene Creed was a fence in that posts to the contrary were kept out of the OC areas and was grounds for an icon change. Non-0Nicenes were kept out of the playground and were placed in the Unorthodox arena and laberled unorthodox.

Now they can don sheep's clothes and play among the dollies and frilly places.

And with staff no longer bound by the creed the playground monitors are not a orthodox safeguard.

The New Erwin has forgotten the Old Erwin knew Mormonism is a cult (his term).

I don't think Christians were supposed to be on playgrounds anyways, but the spiritual battlefield.

Except that sort of rule wouldn't prevent someone from doing that. Certain forums need to go back to being CO. Not fellowshipping ones, not games ones, not even theology ones. But forums geared solely towards receiving and giving Christian advice and prayer need to stay CO.
That's a good idea.

Actually, I am afraid of "wolves" more than I am afraid of cults, atheists and others. I can deal what I know but its harder to deal with the wolves who act like "wildlife terrorists" that comes in without us knowing. There are false teachers who are within our faith and using Christianity to lead us from the truth. That is where the most dangerous teachings come from. False teachers can work their way into CF and Christ have warned us of those wolves who come into our "Christian Forums" pretending to be one of us.

I am greatly saddened by what appears to be hateful and exclusionary "Christians". I pray that people considering becoming a Christian and baby Christians do not stumble across this forum right now as they will turn and go running finding no Christ-like love here...

True and we had those areas here. But this place is a virtual playground attracting thousands of naive believers with dollies, pets, games, bonuses, etc. etc. etc.

I would have far less objections if the place were not coded to be Wally World.

Soldiers don't dress dollies either, my friend.

I agree....We need to realize who are our spiritual enemies.

Yep! And there is not a single human being that we should be labeling our spiritual enemies. We do not fight each other or even non-believers, but the Spiritual realm of Satan and his minions.

Which is worse, teasing dollies or exposing young Christians to spiritual harm?

Youth Ministries in churches has failed in the last 30 years. Youth have great interests in the "Cyber-world" like "My Space". Which is "another" reason why I welcome Erwin's decision to change. I am going to trust God in this matter.

When we are dealing with "young people", Youth Ministry is probably one of the toughest ministry of all ministries in a local church. When it comes to teenagers, we are to know their culture and their interests in order to spread the Word so the Holy Spirit can convict their hearts to know Christ. Teaching the young what God means to obey from the "heart" rather than law (flesh). Its a toughie. I can't control them. I can't be like a Pharisee to make sure they don't break the "rules". I can't force against their will to believe what I believe. I believe in "tough love" to teenagers when needed.

i really don't see how the changes suddenly expose young christians to spiritual harm. I think people have blown alot out of proportion around here these past few days. Get a grip !
