A new CF, an old vision

the site is called Christian forums. It's for Christians to come and fellowship. That's what I want to do. I don't want to share my personal feelings about God then have an athiest tell me straight up that I'm stupid for believing in God.

This site isn't a church, it is a forum. The police in the US aren't all Christian, but we don't complain, (much). As long as they keep order, thats all that we expect of them, Christian or not.

It was a Christian forum, though, which many of us joined and supported in good faith of remaining so. Now, not even the Trinity is being upheld as a basic Christian principle by confession of the creeds. It's going to be more like a tent revival with miked hecklers.

Were agnosticteen, for example, a mod... he would see that verse as a flame, and have the power to act upon it.

Under no circumstances should someone quoting scriptures be reprimanded or punished. Certainly not at "ChristianForums".

I've posted my thoughts on creationism (which I strongly believe in) and had many, many athiests attack me and call me names and such. Maybe not you personally, but it has happened on this site.

The site is divisive now. This decision, while chaotic at first, will make it much less so in the future. It is a move towards being a light and not a damaging influence.

Ar, but there is a difference between discussing with someone with the same Christological opinion as your own over this or that and discussing the same issue with someone who believes Christ was a crack addict.

This shows a major misunderstanding of how the site will be run. It will no longer be run be secret tribunals and governed from an ivory tower. It will be run by the membership with staff having more of a janitorial role. Even reports will be discussed by the public. Staff won't be running the site at all. Non-Christians won't be running the show. TrueChristians™ won't be running the show. It will be run by the membership. Staff won't be a leadership position at all. That's the way it should be.

Did CF just become seeker-friendly? It now exists for the world at large instead of for Christians? Has it gone the way of the evangelical church in this country? I hope not.

Believe me I am adamently opposed to the idea we have to let go of anything so as not to offend those who don't believe in order to lead them to belief. Jesus was definitely not concerned whether or not He was offensive. Most of the time, the only ones who found Him offensive were the religious leaders of the day.

I do not believe Erwin's vision for CF is to make it seeker-friendly... however, I do believe his vision is to make it finder friendly. Jesus' whole goal was to seek and save that which was lost.... why would we not invite the harvest here? What a tremendous opportunity lays before us!!

This isn't a church. It isn't an organized "religion"... it is an opportunity to talk and debate and have iron sharpen iron... and praise God for the thought that we could help someone find a true relationship with Christ!!!

And nobody wants that - which is why a post like that would most likely get deleted under the reforms, as it would now.

I doubt that because God would lead to goodness. Not division.

The whole point is unity. Christians need to get out of their own little boxes of people who believe the same things as they do. The fact is, NONE of us understand any belief or theology view perfectly.

We should be right with those who do evil, because we do too. None of us are any better than a heroin or cocaine addict living on the street. Billy Graham, Mother Theresa, the disciples...none of them were "good". The mother of Jesus Christ was not "good".

Actually, it's previously been ruled that using Bible verses in such a manner to attack others is indeed flaming them. I can find the link, if you like.

No one is saying don't spend time with those who are not saved. Do it whenever you feel like it.

I think this would be a good place to do it...

I serve God, just as the Holy Spirit guides me.
But we who have private sanctuaries would have liked to keep them that way.

Erwin says in his opening post he feels the Holy Spirit guiding him to do this, wouldn't you want him too to be open to God? ..... perhaps its not about your private sanctuaries...
