The last Beatitude...

This is for those who are being spoken evil because they are defending Jesus Christ, the Word of God. Not for those who defend Mary, or the Catholic Church.

It was Jesus Himself who brought me to faith in His Presence in The Eucharist. And I have suffered some for that.
When this happens, all He does is reassure me that I am in His will. So people can suffer for Him in more ways than you think! ;-)
And defending Jesus' own words, "I AM the bread of life"....trust me, you can suffer for that.

I'm not defending the Catholic Church, nor am I defending Mary for her own sake. I have been defending Christ - who He is and what He did. You are denying something most Christians have considered essential doctrine for nearly 2000 years. You are denying a fundamental part of the Nicene Creed. You seem to think anyone who defends Mary's title of Theotokos sees her as a goddess. If that's what you think, I've got nothing more to say here.

Mary is the true Theotokos. It's an enormous honor, and as Scripture predicted, we call her blessed. But it's because she is the Theotokos. If she weren't, there'd be no reason for any of it. It all points back to Christ. Every. Last. Bit. Of. It. Any refusal on your part to see that is your own blindness, your own lack of faith, and your own prejudices. And no, I'm not questioning your salvation, although I wonder if the same can be said for you.

We are defending Christ. Nestorianism isn't a Marian heresy but a Christological heresy.

Who is saying she's more than that? And do you not think that it's the greatest possible honor to not only bear the Son of God, but to be the first to accept Him? To be the most blessed among women? To have brought forth the salvation of the world? To be the very Theotokos? We show her due honor. No greater honor has ever been shown to any human being. I don't understand why so many churches cast her aside and ignore her.

And I've already said I don't question your salvation. Mirroring my own words back to me isn't going to affect me in the least.

Churches don't cast her aside or ignore her. They cast aside the heresy that the Catholic church has created, that she is an intercessor between God and man. That she is a co-redemptress or a mediator. That she as some omnipresent power to hear all Catholics pray and receive their prayers for God. That she is forever a virgin and did not die. They are the ones who have done her the dishonor by elevating her and diminishing the truth of what her Son came to accomplish, that is to restore the relationship between God and man. Not between Mary and man.

The Catholic Church is no monkey on my back, believe me, I've had a couple of monkeys on my back. The fullness and beauty of Christianity is in knowing Jesus Christ. Hearing His voice as He speaks healing to your body. Feeling you heart swell up in need for His presence. I don't attack the Christian faith, I expose unbiblical doctrine. Not to please myself, but so the "truth" that you speak of can be brought to the light.

Maybe I didn't make this clear: I'm not Catholic. Got that? I love my Catholic brethren, and we share many common points, but I am not Catholic. Despite that, you have a gross misunderstanding of what Catholics believe.

As far as dishonoring her... first of all, I hope you're not reading Chick tracts. Second of all, we are showing the Son more honor by honoring His mother. We know what He came to accomplish. We defined the doctrines surrounding just what He accomplished. I have no idea why you hate apostolic Christianity so much, because so far you have made horrible misrepresentations about it.

You are basically denying the Incarnation. You do not believe the Virgin Mary bore our very God. You have said she is His mother according to the flesh only. How are we saved, then? Only Jesus, fully God and fully man, can save us. That is not what you are describing.
