  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I feel it's all my fault.

I come with a rebellious zeal, and often it shows in the language of my various posts.

But I've come to the realization that I have not been fair to you, and I hope in the future that my language is not so abrasive to all the kind brothers and sisters among this small community.

So, forgive me 1 out of 77 times.

:)

I haven't been around these forums in such a long time. I used to frequent Apologetics but it's all the same blather I find everywhere else! It's good to have a break and sit and chat with like-minded people for a change. The insults do get irritating at times but then I remember to keep on keeping on. :)

I have engaged them on the peer reviewed scientific literature and the insults stopped. I have seen it happen. I have engaged them on the theology and the insults stopped. The only way it won't stop is for the bias that is so deep in their theology and science to become the rule.

The insults can stop, I have seen it happen. This is an ongoing battle for the truth and creationism will not be denied it's place in the view of history that allows God as an explanation.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I'm a newbie and I really like the site. Lots of good people here. That being said, it would be nice if people could 'discuss' without insulting others. I haven't seen it, myself, but this is not the first time I've heard about it.

Welcome to Creation Theology, it's against the rules for anyone to attack creationism in here. If you spend any time on the Creation Evolution forum it will become readily evident that creationism is not treated with any courtosy or respect.

At any rate, welcome to the forum.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I agree it is possible to gain some reputation among the TEs. I believe I've gained some myself over time.

On the other hand, it just gets tiring sometimes to have to fight over and over. For example -- in a recent thread one person described conservative Biblical scholarship as folks deliberately ignoring what they didn't agree with. Sheesh!! Even when I pointed out that was accusing all conservative exegesis as intellectually dishonest, he persisted. There comes a point where you are just hitting your head on a brick wall when they refuse to even discuss something without being insulting and bigoted.

Boy, you can say that again, and I fell right into it returning their attacks. I'm done there. Sorry for my part.:sorry:

Hello:wave:

I'm new here to this section.

I'm one of those Christians that doesn't give it much thought as far as how God made the world......

I just know he did because he said he did.....but I've many times have thought that maybe a day to God is not what we consider a day......and everytime a scientist discovers something about our world.....they are just uncovering something God did......God created all things. I never knew it to be such a debate thing...but i know how some can be...my sister for one as a little child decided to not beleive in God because dinosaur bones were real....to her that meant that God just did not exist.....but in my mind if dinosaurs existed....then God knew about them....of course he must have created them....but to my sister....it was proof:scratch: that God did not exist.

Sometimes I think maybe some think a fast one is being pulled on them and they will do anything to defend their intelligence....like they are just to smart for that one....kinda like I did when I tried to tell my mom that Santa did not exist....Which I never beleived in the first place.....

But Jesus...I knew he was real as soon as I heard about him....knew it to my very bones........and I don't worry to much about how God created.....just know he did.

Sorry if I offended any one.....I don't mean to.

Love
Tam

I think some things about all this, but I don't know them as facts. God is timeless. He exists outside of the thing we must refer to as time. When he told the person to write the word he wrote as time, what did God actually tell him?

Anyway, if not the "Old Earth" version, then why did God bury the dinosaur bones in an aged format? Just a thought. Most people who disagree with the "Old Earth" version simply say God never tolds us, but it Could have been a joke, God can be funny, we are made like him.

Actually the fossils and the other geologic strata are exactly as one would expect after a global flood (Noah). Far from giving evidence for old age or evolution, they stand as silent solid testimony to the truth of Scripture.

Amen, like clams on Mt. Everest, and trees burried in the upright position, on the stump, being partly coal, part petrified, and part fossilised at once.

So Many good sound explainations that fit with scripture yet people prefer to say it took millions of years.   :sigh:
