  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How is everyone today? I hope every person is well.

I'm doing well. How about you?

Can someone tell me if there are other American Indian Christians here?

That's a very interesting question. Unfortunately I have no idea, nor can I think of a way to find out short of posting a thread/poll in a forum.

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile since I've posted any updates so I figure it's overdue.

I think I've done well. I say *think* because I'm sure I've slipped and stumbled along the way. This has been such an encouraging experience, but it's also been an eye opener to other areas in my life that need working on. So I've taken some time to work on those areas also. Sadly, but bittersweetly, that become somewhat of a priority.

Now that I think I may have a firmer grasp on some cleaning up I need to do I've been able to refocus. I can say it's easier to acknowledge my faults before my strengths. For me to sit here and think of examples where I've been successful in WWJD is rather difficult. But to list the times I haven't is oh so simple. Do you think that's good or bad?

My biggest obstacle lately has been struggling to openly and lovingly step in and take hold of areas my husband doesn't want to deal with. Yes, I do have free time (obviously) and a flexible schedule, but it's really annoying to constantly be handed the difficult and hard tasks that surface. I long for the day I can just be behind the curtain helping out or just overseeing and not doing the physical aspect of them.

Anyway... I've been downright miserable (and probably unbearable at times too). I'm slowly able to get myself to do the tasks without ill thoughts. I still get myself all aggrevated and worked up prior to having to do anything, but when I'm actually doing it-- I'm fine.

So that's my drama for the day/week. ;)

Yeah, it's the same way for me. I think it's both good and bad, but mostly bad. The good part is that we recognise when we mess up and can then work on those areas, and the bad part is that it's evidence that we fall short a lot more than we succeed.

Romans 8
9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Or perhaps you notice when you mess up, and not when you succeed! You're doing a lot right, too, don't be too hard on yourself!

Revelation 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.

Don't listen to the accuser - God is making you perfect, and satan doesn't like it!
You, brother, are growing as a man of God, and He delights in you!
Bless you.

That's a good suggestion :)

I will keep you in prayer. It's good to here that you are doing well. I think we tend to notice the bad more than the good, it's the same with me, I can find my faults a lot easier than strengths, we all tend to be very hard on ourselves whether it's intentional or not.
