  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You have and are doing everything that can be done by being with this family and helping.

From the theological position I would say to you that you do not really know whether or not this woman was a believer when she died. As none of us have actually died yet, we do not know whether there may be a moment during which a person can finally make that crucial decision and turn their life over to Christ.

As such, it may be that whilst you believe that she was a non-believer that whenyou arrive in heaven (in the distant future) you may find her there to greet you and thank you for witnessing Jesus's love to her.

Keep on witnessing and sowing seed, you may never know what the harvest will be in the end! And remember the Lord gives the same gift to those who turn at the last second as he does to those that believe for years. Remember the parable of the workers inthe vineyard and the wages paid to those that worked less than those that worked all day long!

Do not despair sister. Jesus brings hope - even at the point of death - remember the thief on the cross!

Pete

Oh Eldaah I'm sorry to hear you'll be moving again. Do you mind me asking why your family moves so much? I can't say much... I'd move tomorrow, but that's simply because I'm not totally fond of the area we currently live in.

We originally lived in Ohio, but then we moved to MI and stayed there for about 6-7 years. Then, we got the idea to move to WV, because my mom loves the mountains. I was excited the first time as well. But then, we ended up missing our friends here and our church here, and we ended up moving back without being able to sell our house in WV. Then, after a while, we had to move back to WV because we couldn't afford to keep both houses and we couldn't sell the WV house. We made many moves then. I'm not even sure how many times we moved. We are now going to be moving back into that same house that we originally bought in WV.

*Takes a breath* Long story. Are you confused yet?

I have asked God to let His will be done, and I will accept it. I know that His will is better than mine, and I will seek His will.

Help.
Please pray,everyone.
I know what Jesus would do - He would cry.
Which I am doing.
An aquaintance of mine has died - leaving five young children - two of whom were recently adopted after having an appalling start in life.
She wasn't a christian.
I don't know what to do or say here.
I don't understand wht God could let this happen.
I know the "right" answers, I know it's not God's fault.
And I do trust Him, and I know He answers prayer, and He will look after those little ones.
But I just don't know what to do with the hurt.
I don't know what to say to her husband and the children.
How can I preach a gospel which says that thrir mother has died without God?
How can that bring any comfort?
Sorry - I didn't come here to rant.
Just - please ,pray.
Thank you.

This is a tough situation. I suppose all you can do is pray for them, care for them, and do whatever you can to help them. Love them like Jesus would. Lead them to Him through example, and if an opportunity arises in the future, witness to them. Just support them in any way you can. I'll be praying for them Criada. I'll also be praying for you. I know it's never easy to lose someone you know, especially when you don't know they were saved. :prayer:

Welcome thegloryishere! Glad to have you here. If you have anything you need prayers about, or if you need advice, or anything we're here for you. DWJD.

Can I join the WWJD club?

Yes of course. We love having new people here. Like I said to thegloryishere, if you need anything just let us know.

If I knew them and was near them, I would try to help in practical ways right now. Make meals and deliver them. Maybe find out their needs and organize a group of people who can help in this way. Offer to watch the children so the father can do what he needs to do... Things like this would be the most helpful. They may not even remember what you did for them when they start to emerge from their grief, but you will know that you did what you could do. And, I'm sure it will please God as well.

Amen. This would be a great way to show the love of Jesus to them.

Indeed you can join, welcome.

I'm grieving for this family. There's probably not much that can be said to these people to comfort them. I would certainly not point out the fact that they may not see their mother in heaven.

that is sound advice.

I know this is comepletely irrelevant to everything that's been going on in this club, but I felt inspired last night to write a short story like thing, which is odd because I hardly ever write anything. It is sort of related to my fight against temptations that day. Anyways, I just decided to post it on here and see what you all think about it. So, here's the link:

http://www.geocities.com/eldaah_ii/Chesalon.html

(NOTE: There are two pages. There is a link at the bottom of the first page that leads to the second page.)

So, you guys can check it out if you want to. Thanks all.

Yes, I too am a tad confused about the moves, but as wolfman said it's great to hear you are open to His will.

Eldaah... this is AWESOME! I'd love to see you venture into writing more-- you did such an excellent job! And I just am amazed at the realization of humanity and God-- particuarly His response to your question of why HE left YOU.

Eldaah, that's brilliant.
Keep writing - you have a real gift.

I cling to Him now as I dwell in my stronghold. Even now I hear the father of lies whispering in my ear. Even now I am tempted. But I will cling to my Father with all my might. I am in His hands and no one can take me out of My Father’s hands. He is my Father, my Master, my Defender, my Stronghold, my Fortress, my Chesalon, and He will always be with me.

Amen!!
Bless you, brother

Even I'm confused about our moves. lol. About the story thing, are you being brutally honest, just lying to me to make me feel better, or what? I believe that Jesus would be brutally honest about His opinion in this situation, because I truly want to know what you truly think.

I can never write very good, but that was probably the best I've ever written (though it's not necessarily that good), because I felt inspired. I hardly ever feel that way about something I'm writing. Thank you both for reading it.

Sooo... you think I'm sugarcoating it eh? ;)

Alright... here's *nice*: Good job Eldaah.

Here's *sugarcoating*: Very nice Eldaah-- writing can truly be an excellent means of allowing one to release emotions and feelings. I think you did a great job.

And finally... here's the *brutally honest*: WOW! Excellent use of many literal delicacies such as:
...I gave up my stronghold, my chesalon, and let the enemy advance...
...I heard a great voice, the voice of my Lord,...
...Even now I hear the father of lies whispering in my ear...

As you can see I am sincerely being brutally honest. I truly feel you should really pursue with writing when you feel the need to. And by all means... share. :)

Wow, that is good.
and yes i'm being honest.

I can relate to that very well, and it shows God's love for us so well, being willing to pick us up again and again and again, and not being mad at us for going off and being stupid.

Thank you. I Couldn't have done it without Him giving me the words.

I am thinking about trying to write more short stories, and yes I will share them, because what point is there in writing if no one reads it. Anyways, I suppose this isn't exactly the right place to talk about this. Thanks for reading it though. You guys are awesome.

Yes, this is all true, but it's never easy to do something like this. I'm not saying we shouldn't, only that it is no simple task.
I agree that it isn't easy...but Jesus told us that it wouldn't be.... wow maybe the Lord is sending to WV because He needs you there...He may have a plan for you to reach out to His people that don't know Him or needs WWJD and He wants you to bring this to them...God Bless you and your family..we will keep you in our prayers and that the Lord will show you what He has in store for you in WV..

Thank you Mike. I hadn't even thought of suggesting the WWJD thing to my church youth group there, but you saying that made me think of it. Thank you Mike.
