I would really like to hear the nonargumentative points of view on this, it is something that I have struggled with for a very long time because I want very much to go into ministry and God created me as a natural born leader, but I am unsure of what my place in ministry is.

I have so many aspirations for ministries that I want to start and ideas for reaching the unreached, yet where is my place in all of this?

Okay,

I can do EVERYTHING through Him (Christ) who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13 NIV
Don't take this verse too far. If you really think that "everything" or "all" in this verse refers to literally everything, then you are mistaken. This does not supercede the boundries and limits which have already been set. You need to apply this to the context of the entire Bible.

Eve didn't eat the forbidden fruit through Christ...

Don't be dumb, I'm talking about in the Will of God.

Anyways, there's a bunch of stuff in the bible that I can put up here later if need that is talking to the Church (not just the men) say that those who are called to preach in my, Go preach. Ect...

There's more but I don't have time right now to type it.

anyways, I want to state this. Why would God, choise to give a women the gifts to preach, to teach, to understand and to lead if he did not want her in leadership?

Why would He put the desire in her heart to do so, if she was not called?

ECT....

(more later, ran out of time)

Very good questions! The answers lie in our hearts. God speaks to us all there.

o.k., first off I am not going to debate with you about what the Word tells me. The Bible says that a woman should not lead a man. I am fortunate to believe that this is printed in the Word and you should learn how to read and believe it.:groupray:

Breetai, God made men and women equal. God wants anyone, male or female, to spread His Word. Why do you oppose women being in autority?
Why are you directing this at me? Men and woman were not created the same, and are not equal on every level. Sure, everyone should spread the Gospel, but that's not the issue here.

What I just said was directly said in the Bible, and has been posted in this thread. What you just said was a statement from emotion.

We ARE different but we are EQUAL. We CAN preach. Any objections?

Taking the question back a step: assuming there is a Biblical mandate against female pastors, what specific duties of a pastor are Biblically off limits to women?

Additionally, if there is no difference between men and women (i.e., men and women are equal), why the push for female pastors? Is the implication that the spreading of the gospel is somehow suffering with only men serving as pastors?

Your first question is a good one. I'd like to hear some thoughts on that too.

As for the suffering with just men pastors, my thought is that if women were allowed to be pastors a lot of the shortages that some denominations face would be alleviated some. I'm sure there are lots of other issues...that's just one that comes to mind.

Firstly, I hate how these verses have been used over the years as an excuse to disempower women, and boy has it worked. I know so many badly hurt women, because males were afraid to let them follow their calling, many of them struggling to keep a faith alive.
While I'm studying theology, I have no personal desire to be a church pastor, partly because I have seen what churches can put their pastors through, and I recognise my calling to ministry is not church based, and for this I praise the Lord.
As far as I can tell, the debate is mostly over whether women can have the title, as although there is the occasional church who refuse to have women preach, these churches don't tend to be happy growing churches from what I've seen. They are allowed, even often expected to do the work anyway. Can we quit arguing and get on with it? Enough people have been hurt already!
Joel 2:28-29
And afterward, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my spirit in the last days.

I think God has every intention of using women to work for him. I'm not sure his church has the same opinion.
what do we think of people like Deborah? and Lydia? And Abigail?
