They convert to Christianity. Easy to find many articles stating this. A still-living Savior who died for us and still lives to work in our lives today,is even more appealing than Islam and it's promise of 72 virgins in Paradise, that's "IF" they are deemed worthy,with Islam you're never sure.

My guess is they're being killed. Only way they could live, is to escape the area first, then renounce Islam.

I see it this way too. If they're leaving, it's still a good thing. That way, we might have more and more coming out and saying loud and clear just how violent radical Islam really is. It carries more weight if someone that was actually a part of it says it. This applies even with moderates.

I wonder if the high rate is due in part to birth rates. I don't see much to commend the faith for, so I have a hard time seeing that it would gain many adult adherents (although I may have that backwards; it may be because it doesn't have much to commend it that it gains adherents)

Do you have a link for that? From what I've read, Christianity is. China is seeing great growth. In Africa, a res publica Christiana is developing which transcends national borders and is an economic incentive to join the faith. Then you have Mexico, Central and South America with their huge Christian populations.

But anyway - do you really think God cares which religious tradition people encounter the 'holy' in. Same mysterious God we are all searching for - most of us anyway.

Afterall - we are called to be the salt. And who wants to eat a cake that is 100% (or even 50%) salty? Christianity was always meant to be a minority group promoting 'radical' love. Sometimes I wonder if in our 'success' we have simply devolved into another pious majority cult...

Unfortunately Australia is going this way too. Our federal pollies have been getting increasingly overt in their racial and relgious slurs. Recently our PM called for Muslim Imams to preach in English because it fosters terrorism! How absurd is this. I notice he doesn't send the same message to Catholics using Latin, or Greek Orthodox for using Greek. Shameful!
