So I was supposed to begin my fast at 10am today however I had eaten an orange at 12am today.

Hello. My name is Decker. I've recently been looking at different paths and found the one for me. I'm not too smart but I can definitely participate in friendly discussion.

In my company, people bring in food often, and so it is likely to be noticed if I am not eating. I have tried fasting recently and people almost found out. I broke a fast prematurely, and the next morning there was a pancake breakfast which I partook of. Later that day, one of my coworkers asked me conversationally if I ate any of the breakfast. If I had prolonged my fast and not ate the breakfast, he would have found out just by asking me.

There are often carry in meal events, or food ordered in from restaurants. There is also a coworker who often buys a meal at Wendy's that I think may have 5 items, and she usually gives me her chicken nuggets because it is too much for her.

I am kind of struggling with what to tell these people if I decide to go on a fast. If there is food offered and they ask me about it, or the lady wants to give me chicken nuggets, I could just say, “This is a day where I am cutting back”. However if my boss orders a special meal that is delivered to the workplace, if I can't eat it, I may explain that I am fasting in order to not be rude, especially if I have been on the fast for a few days, where my digestive system would be overloaded by a normal meal if I don't break the fast properly.

Jesus instructed people not to share with others that they are fasting. However I don't only want to fast for spiritual purposes, but I am interested in the weight loss benefits. I could just explain to coworkers that I skip meals sometimes to lose weight, so that I avoid exalting myself in their eyes spiritually, and it is possible that some days of my fast may not be all that spiritual in nature, but more for the weight loss. I am still interested in the spiritual benefits too, though, to some extent.

Something that I am uncomfortable with is that in American culture, where there seems to be a lot of misinformation that everyone has to have three meals a day, if people know that I am fasting or skipping meals, they might think that I have an eating disorder, when that is not necessarily true. I look relatively thin, and wearing a loose T-shirt, people can't easily notice the excess belly fat that has accumulated.

If the lady has extra chicken nuggets to give me from her meal at Wendy's, and I am fasting, I could tell her that I can put the nuggets in the freezer and eat them at a later time. Usually if I am not available to eat them, she will put them in the fridge, and the nuggets last for two or three days. However I am thinking of doing a much longer fast possibly where I can still drink juice.

I also want to mention that I have found it easy to give into temptation to break the fast after just about 2 days. If I can get past three days, than it kind of locks myself out from most food because a fast three days or longer is not healthy to break by eating processed food, bread, or meats, but only by eating some fruit or vegetables.

I could also explain to my coworkers the health benefits of fasting, such as the body removing damaged cellular material during a fast. I could also explain that I am trying to follow the example in nature, where an animal may build up fat reserves for migration or hibernation, and then, when they are not eating, their body consumes the fat reserves.

The reparations bill supported by Vice President Kamala Harris would set up an independent commission similar to the one in California that called for sweeping changes to the criminal code in addition to monetary payouts to black Americans.

The Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act, which was reintroduced in April 2019 and cosponsored by then-senator Harris, would create a 13-member commission to “study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery, its subsequent de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans.” The commission would then offer their recommendations for “remedies” to Congress.

Current laws that “continue to disproportionately and negatively affect African-Americans as a group, and those that perpetuate the lingering effects, materially and psycho-social,” could be on the chopping block as well, the bill reads. That provision is left vague. Specifics, the bill states, would be hashed out by individuals from “civil society and reparations organizations that have historically championed the cause of reparatory justice.”

Although the bill does not specify which federal laws could be slashed, a reparations task force in California may offer some clues. That task force concluded last year that longtime black residents were entitled to $1.2 million each, as well as recommended sweeping changes to the criminal code.

Among the changes recommended were decriminalizing public urination and letting those arrested for public indecency sue the state for damages. Fathers who are delinquent on their child support would see their debt wiped, and police would no longer be allowed to pull over cars with expired registration, tinted windows, or broken tail lights.

I have been thinking about this recently. How are we to understand it when Jesus says: "Only God (the Father) is good? Well, you might say: "Jesus doesn't actually say 'the Father'", but when we look at that Gospels Jesus always refer to the Father when he says "God".

And if so what's the wait for ? God could just snap his mighty fingers and boom all the evil people are erased out of existence I don't know why God simply won't do this.

But presidential candidate Harris enters the race with a significant challenge. I am good on calcium; I will be using dry milk powder for that. Vitamin D I can get that from a 30-minute walk in the sun.

Problem is bread goes bad fast, I will be needing a different source for my carbs and dietary fiber. Other problem is that fruits and vegetables also go bad quickly.
What foods will be good replacements for long term prepping?

So far, I found granola bars as a possible alternative to bread, but I haven't found anything really to help with the vitamins and minerals. I would prefer any food items with a long shelf life than a multi-vitamin. What are our options?

If it can at least last 1 month, rather than 1 week. I will prefer that over fresh fruits and vegetables.

The following Sunday Maliyati, a student at Noor Islamic Institute in Mbale, attended a church service, and upon returning home found her father, 44-year-old Abdulrahim Kutosi, and uncles angry with her, she said.

“They tied me up, beat me, and finally my dad picked up a hot flat iron and hot water and burned me and shouted loudly that I was an embarrassment to the family,” Maliyati told Morning Star News. “I was burnt for leaving Islam and converting to Christianity, as my father furiously continued shouting that I had ashamed the family. He continued saying that even Allah is annoyed with me as the pain continued inside my body.”

Hi everyone, I would greatly appreciate your prayers- I am on a very powerful medication and it has given me a condition called metabolic syndrome. It is a wasting condition, it is causing me to lose muscle mass, I have have had this for several years and still haven't gotten healed. I have lost alot of muscle mass and am now very gaunt, skin and bones. There is no treatment for this condition, it is incurable. If you wouldn't mind pray for a miracle healing for metabolic syndrome!

I recently got engaged which is a huge blessing. Today was the first day back at church since then and I feel like the people I thought would be most excited for me send to me as dismissive. I've been waiting and praying for this for 31 years and it's finally come and i don't feel the same rejoicing other young couples got when it was their turn. The mission of the Holy Spirit is our sanctification, transforming us and bringing us closer to God. Through prayer, we can open ourselves to His action and receive His gifts, which include wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, strength, piety, and fear of God. Each of these gifts helps us live in accordance with divine principles and maintain an intimate relationship with God, avoiding sin and valuing his presence in our lives.

So, I have seen non-denominationalists getting a lot of flack online.


The biggest criticism I've heard is that non-denom churches lack accountability since the pastor can do and teach whatever he wants, without any higher authority overruling him.
