Gary Thomas Keesee Jr. pleaded not guilty to 27 criminal charges, including 11 counts of rape, in a Knox County courtroom on Wednesday.

Keesee faces 11 counts of rape, 11 counts of gross sexual imposition and five counts of sexual conduct with a minor. According to the indictment, the alleged crimes happened between May 2002 and October 2011 and involved three victims, who were all girls between the ages of 6 and 15 at the time.

Licking County prosecutors took over the case from Knox County after Attorney General Dave Yost decided not to pursue it. Yost said he had conflict of interest because of his friendship with [perp's parents] Gary and Drenda Keesee, who are the founders of Faith Life Church.

[Perp] Keesee held different roles at the church over the time the abuse allegedly took place.

Three U.S. citizen children were deported to Honduras from Louisiana, sparking national outrage and prompting a U.S. District Judge to criticize the deportation process as lacking "meaningful process."

U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty wrote that the toddler, identified as VML, had been sent to Honduras on Friday, alongside her mother and sister, even as the court had sought to clarify the girl's status.

"The Government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her," Doughty wrote. "But the Court doesn't know that."

As I was reading this passage of Scripture this morning, I got stopped at this point: “Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd.” I believe this is a picture of the spiritual situation we are in here in America, where I live. Many people today are not able to see who Jesus really is because the crowd (the majority) is not presenting him as he really is, in truth. But they are presenting a false impression of who he is in order to appease human flesh and to not offend the ungodly of this world.

But Zaccheus was persistent, and he did not let the crowd deter him from seeing who Jesus was. So he climbed to a higher place in order to see the Lord. And that is what we have to do, too. We cannot rely on the image other people give us of Jesus, which may be distorted, but we must climb higher in order to be able to see him. We must get into the Scriptures ourselves (older translations preferred) to see what they say about Jesus and what all he was about, and what he taught, so we get the truth.

And when Zaccheus climbed up into this tree in order to see Jesus, Jesus looked up, saw him, and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

Now, according to the Scriptures, not one of us can come to faith in Jesus Christ unless God draws us to him, i.e. unless God the Father persuades us as to his holiness and righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to repent of our sins and to follow our Lord in obedience to his commands. So, for Zaccheus to seek out Jesus, as he did, God the Father must have been drawing him to the Lord. And Zaccheus then sought out the Lord, even against some obstacles that could have possibly deterred him from that.

And Satan is going to throw all kinds of obstacles in our paths, hoping that we will not respond to the persuasion of our Lord, and that we will not persevere in seeking out the Lord in getting to know who he really is. And these kinds of obstacles are all over the place – on social media, in these institutional market-driven “churches” (businesses), in “Christian” song lyrics, in “Christian” movies, TV shows, cartoons, some “Christian” memes and devotions, and in many modern-day preachers’ sermons and books.

So, if we really want to seek the Lord, to get to know him intimately, to know who he really is and why he died on that cross, we must be students of the Scriptures who study them in their appropriate context. For many lies are being spread about our Lord, and about his purpose in giving his life up for us on that cross, and what it means to be “saved” from our sins. So, this is where we really get to know the Lord intimately, when we let him “stay at our house,” and we persist in getting to know him and in following after him.

Now, when Zaccheus listened to Jesus, and he did what the Lord told him to do, and when he received the Lord gladly, he immediately faced criticism from the crowd. And when we hear the voice of the Lord speaking to us, and we listen to him, and we follow him where he leads us in doing what he calls us to do and to be, “the crowds” will criticize us, too. And we will be mocked, falsely accused, thought crazy, persecuted, rejected, cast aside as unwanted, and completely disregarded by many, even by other professing “Christians.”

But Zaccheus did not let the opinions of others deter him from following Jesus. That day he met Jesus, and he repented of any known sins, and he decided to make restitution for any wrong he committed. That day his heart was changed away from a life of sin to a life of one who desired to obey the Lord with his life and to no longer walk in sin. And Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house.” And we will have salvation when we give it all up to follow Jesus with our lives in surrender to his will for our lives.


But our salvation is not just forgiveness of all sins so that we can go to heaven when we die. If our salvation is of God, we will die with Christ to sin, and we will now walk with him in obedience to his commands, by his grace, in his power. For if sin is still what we practice, and not obedience to our Lord, then we do not have salvation from sin and eternal life with God. For Jesus died to put our sins to death with him so we will now die to sin and live to him and to his righteousness, in the power of God, by his grace.

Perhaps anyone else is diagnosed as schizotypal? I was diagnosed with the personality disorder at age 19 or 20.

Here I go again. I might not be able to go to Divine Mercy Sunday, even though I'm going to try to go to regular Mass. This is kind of sad. I see my devotion waning because of circumstances. I'm still thankful I went to Easter Vigil but still.

Anyone who hasn't gone, what do you do to "make up" for it? I could say the Divine Mercy Chaplet myself (I hate to sound bad but I find it annoying the way my parish sings it anyway), but I'd be missing out on the Homily and Confession.

To be honest, the DMC (Divine Mercy Chaplet) has never interested me (I am truly sorry, I do not intend to offend). My comment is knowingly subjective. It does not hit the spot for me. I prefer a decade of the Rosary than the entire DMC but as I said, I am stating an opinion.

However, I think my post is "copium." I'm trying to find ways to "look critically" at this because internally, I wish I could be going. I highly doubt it will work out for me tomorrow.

The problem with living in a small town is that there aren't many opportunities to meet new people. So I need to know how I could find places involving my interests where I could meet new people. I tried Google, but didn't get much out of it.

I found my faith in Christ in 2015, went to church a lot, and ended up going on a hiatus for a few years. I'm about to return to church but I find it very difficult for some reason. I think besides that an online community could also be beneficial. I'm a land surveyor and multi instrumentalist musician.

The Soccer Tournament (TST) kicked off on Thursday and saw the U.S. Women open their tournament with a 5-0 defeat to Say Word FC.

The U.S. Women team coached by Mia Hamm is the only team consisting of just women on the roster and features household names like Heather O’Reilly, Kristine Lilly and more.

Say Word FC comprises young talent, mostly aged 18 through 20, with college and lower pro league experience. The team is taking this tournament seriously and did a two-week training camp in May with two practices each day.

What’s more, according to an in-depth report from The Wall Street Journal published last week, Musk appears to be consumed by the idea that in order to counteract the world’s decreasing birthrates, humans must increase in population so that they can inhabit other planets in order to “ensur[e] the long-term survival of humanity and all life as we know it.” Musk has therefore taken it upon himself to father as many children as possible with high intelligence, even arguing that babies should be born via caesarean section to allow for larger brains.

Before discussing how alarming this situation is, conservatives can at least appreciate that on the surface, the pro-natalist views of Musk are gaining considerable cultural attention and consideration, and are pointedly opposite of the progressive, mainstream media-pushed culture of death approach that favors abortion and childlessness. Musk has even made it a point to make numerous public appearances with his young children in tow, and has at times spoken movingly about being a parent, remarking that “nothing will make you happier than having kids.”

The Trump Administration did not deport the 2-year-old American citizen. Rather, the government was generous enough to pay for the child’s transportation back to Honduras at the legal custodian/mother’s request.
The American citizen is welcome to return to the US at a future date.

The judge should not have tried to prevent the mother, the legal custodian, from taking her child home.

In the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, Abraham and Lazarus are in Paradise, with water and light... on the other side of a chasm that's most difficult to cross, there looking at them is the Rich Man. He was in flames. In Jonah chapter two from the YLT we can read of Jonah, a precursor to Jesus, going down to the depths of the Earth, and he says prophetically, that those who lift themselves up to lying vanities show themselves no mercy. Abraham may have had idols as a boy, but after that, he was righteous and did not lift himself up to lying vanities. He accepted mercy. Jesus mentions that Israel in approximately 30 AD would only be given the sign of Jonah. Peter describes Jesus as preaching to those in gloomy dungeons, and the NT always relies on the OT for verification. Abraham and Lazarus as merely two examples, were not in gloomy dungeons. Believers in NDEs describe a feeling of unworthiness, followed by waves of God's love flooding over them. They are overwhelmed with mercy.

I assert that while Jesus cleared out Hell in His resurrection, and this means much mercy and power for salvation now, over that of the OT times, I do not mean to say there is universal salvation, and it would seem some people today are trapped and locked in damnation. It is very unsafe to wait until after death to call on Jesus.
