  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Blessing Upon The Saints: "May The God Of Peace Be With You"

Philippians 4:
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do,
and the God of peace will be with you.

2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from
the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Benediction
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind,
live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.
13 All the saints greet you.

The only "rich" man who Christ said received salvation

In Luke 19:1-10 we read the story of Zacchaeus, the only "rich" man who Christ ever said received salvation. In the KJV it reads;

1And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

So, why did Christ tell Zacchaeus "This day is salvation come to this house"? Christ famously said in Matthew 19:23 "That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven." This was after his encounter with the rich young man. The young man had asked Christ "what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?" Christ first answered him "keep the commandments" and listed a few of the Old Testament commandments of God. When the rich young man told Christ "All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?" is when Christ replied; "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." Of course we are told that the young man went away sorrowful because he had "great possessions" and was unwilling to give them up.

When Christ relayed the Parable of Lazarus and the rich man, in Luke 16:19-31 we read in verses 22-23 "22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments," So, why is it that Lazarus went to "Abraham's bosom" and the rich man went to hell. I've heard people say that the rich man went to hell because he didn't help poor Lazarus. First, nowhere in the story does it say that he never gave him anything. Secondly, it doesn't make sense from a logical standpoint. If he never gave him a handout, why was Lazarus still hanging out, begging at the rich mans gate. One would think if the rich man never gave him anything he would have found greener pastures. All we know from Christ's telling is that Lazarus was poor and went to heaven and the only thing we know about the rich man is he was rich and went to hell. So, without reading between the lines, we have only the fact that he was rich to explain why he was in hell.

So, what was different about Zacchaeus? I think it;s obvious. Zacchaeus told Christ that he had given half his goods to the poor and anyone who he had cheated, he repaid them fourfold. Zacchaeus had heard Christ's teachings and acted upon them by giving away his wealth to the poor and making restitution to those he had cheated. I find it interesting that he gave half to the poor before making restitution. That meant more for the poor since they got theirs off the top and still the restitution to those he had cheated was the same. At any rate, Zacchaeus was the only rich man to actually act on what Christ taught and thus Christ said he had received salvation. This leads one to conclude that the only way a rich man can receive Christ is to give away their riches to those less fortunate and the vast majority of rich people will never do that. Thus the admonition that a rich man can hardly ever get to heaven.

ICE: ‘First-of-its-kind’ operation with local law enforcement leads to nearly 800 immigrant arrests in Florida

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis hailed the operation as “an example of FL and (the Department of Homeland Security) partnering to deliver big results on immigration enforcement and deportations,” according to a statement on X.
“Florida is leading the nation in active cooperation with the Trump administration for immigration enforcement and deportation operations!” DeSantis wrote in a separate post Saturday.
The massive number of reported arrests comes amid President Donald Trump’s ongoing crackdown on illegal immigration and as the Department of Justice moves to prosecute state and local officials accused of impeding that effort.

They need to give hefty jail sentences to anyone who aids and abets alien criminals.

Shamed by future in laws

I've made my decision to move back home with my parents until my fiance and i get married and figure things out financially. My in-laws are shaming me for it and treating me like a horrible person. I have multiple reasons why i didn't want to live out here anymore and my fiance supports me. He doesn't even want to live here anymore. I think it's about control and pride with his family.

Deathly Ill

Hi everyone, I would greatly appreciate your prayers- I have a severe mental illness and brain disease called schizophrenia. I am on some very powerful medication for it that helps me alot, however about 1 year ago it stopped working and I have been going steadily downhill ever since, lately I have been deathly ill, profoundly ill, I am nearly screaming in pain, there is nothing medical science can do for me, I need a miracle. I believe I have a condition called metabolic syndrome that causes my meds to stop working, it is something wrong with your hormones and blood sugar, but I am not sure what exactly is causing this. I desperately need a miracle healing of schizophrenia or that the meds start working again. Please pray for a miracle! Thank you!

Concern for a Brother Who Has Abandoned the Church

Forgive the length of this post, but I want to be clear.

Recently, a brother and active member of our church, a congregation of about 400, suddenly resigned his membership and ceased attending. He had significant responsibilities: leading a ministry, occasionally speaking at events, and shepherding a youth Bible study. For some time, those closest to him sensed something was wrong, as he began pulling away from ministries he once faithfully served. He ultimately resigned via an email to the church office and his small group leader, without seeking any counsel from the pastors or elders apart from private conversations with myself and two others.

His stated reason for leaving centers on Calvinism. Now, I understand that Calvinism is a topic of debate in the broader evangelical world. But that is not the real issue here. Our church is broadly Reformed, but Calvinism is hardly emphasized. It is rarely even mentioned from the pulpit. Our pastors themselves have varying views on some aspects. In short, Calvinism is not a defining or dividing issue in our body.

However, this man’s position has become extreme. He now believes that any church which teaches any form of Calvinism is preaching a false gospel. Beyond that, he asserts that true believers are under no obligation to show any evidence of transformation, growth, or fruit in their lives after professing faith.

This is not merely an overreaction to theological differences. It is a fundamental departure from the Gospel itself. Scripture is abundantly clear.
  • "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire" (Matthew 7:19).
  • "Whoever says, 'I know him' but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2:4).
  • "By grace you have been saved through faith... not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works" (Ephesians 2:8–10).
We are not saved by works, but true saving faith inevitably produces works. Transformation is the fruit of genuine salvation (2 Corinthians 5:17; James 2:17).

This brother has gone further still. He now rejects the necessity of self-examination and repentance, accusing faithful teachers such as John Piper, Paul Washer, and John MacArthur of preaching a "works-based gospel." His reasoning is that he believes so strongly against the presence of transformation that examining yourself for sin or misalignment is doing so. He refused to meet with our leadership to discuss his concerns, directly violating the biblical pattern of addressing issues within the church (Matthew 18:15–17; 1 Timothy 5:19–20).

Moreover, when challenged on why he would leave without the Lord first establishing him elsewhere, he cited Hebrews 11:8 — comparing his departure to Abraham’s obedience in leaving Ur. A tragic misapplication. Abraham left paganism at God's clear command; this man is forsaking a faithful, biblical church under his own impulse.

At first, I thought he was merely misguided, perhaps overly zealous over a secondary issue. But in light of his accusations, his refusal of shepherding, and his rejection of basic Gospel fruit, I now see this not as a theological disagreement but a potential spiritual shipwreck.

When a man abandons the Word of God in favor of his own interpretations, spurns the leadership Christ has placed in the church, and divorces salvation from transformation, he reveals a heart in rebellion, not merely confusion. "Reject a factious man after a first and second warning, knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned" (Titus 3:10–11).

My question for the forum is this:
  • Is this a case of mere theological error?
  • Or are we looking at a man who, by his fruits, may never have truly known Christ (Matthew 7:21–23)?
I appreciate your insights, and I would value your prayers for his soul.

Many Antichrists

1 John 2:18
polus: many, much, great antichrists have arisen [ginomai: to become, to come into being, to happen, to be made, to be done], whereby we know that it is the last hour.

The Greek adjective "polus" is used to describe a large quantity or number. It can refer to many people, much of something, or a great extent or degree. In the New Testament, "polus" is often used to emphasize abundance or multitude, whether in terms of people, things, or abstract concepts like time or effort.

In the first century, the apostle John said a great multitude of antichrists have arisen.
They arose from among the body of Christ, as was foretold by the apostles.
Acts 20:29, 30 - I know that after my departure, grievous wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock, Even from your own number, men will rise up and distort the truth to draw away disciples after them.

We are somewhere within that last hour... whether it be the last half an hour... fifteen minutes... we do not know, but what we do know, is that that great multitude of antichrists have proliferated, and will continue to grow, as Satan adds more of his ministers 2 Corinthians 11:15, up until the coming of the Lord, when they will meet their finish. 2 Thessalonians 2:8

Is it easy to identify the antichrists? Yes.
How can we identify the antichrists? By looking at the man Jesus Christ - what he did, and what he believed.
So, let's take a look at the scriptures, and identify, the antichrists that exist today.

Son of Faith Life Church co-pastors pleads not guilty to 27 criminal counts, including 11 rape charges on 3 minor victims

Gary Thomas Keesee Jr. pleaded not guilty to 27 criminal charges, including 11 counts of rape, in a Knox County courtroom on Wednesday.

Keesee faces 11 counts of rape, 11 counts of gross sexual imposition and five counts of sexual conduct with a minor. According to the indictment, the alleged crimes happened between May 2002 and October 2011 and involved three victims, who were all girls between the ages of 6 and 15 at the time.

Licking County prosecutors took over the case from Knox County after Attorney General Dave Yost decided not to pursue it. Yost said he had conflict of interest because of his friendship with [perp's parents] Gary and Drenda Keesee, who are the founders of Faith Life Church.

[Perp] Keesee held different roles at the church over the time the abuse allegedly took place.

‘Homo bigheads’: Newfound human species roamed China’s woodlands with extra-large heads

Early humans of Homo juluensis had a large head shape, with measurements notably larger than those of Neanderthals and Homo sapiens.

Homo juluensis lived approximately 300,000 years ago in eastern Asia, specifically roaming the woodlands of northeastern China. The fossils designated as Homo juluensis are fragmented and include several pieces of skull, jaw, and some teeth, as reported by Folha de S.Paulo. The remains of at least 16 individuals have been found, exhibiting unique characteristics such as larger skulls and teeth than Neanderthals and Homo sapiens, according to El Tiempo.

"The molars from Xujiayao of our type specimen are also quite large," Christopher Bae commented. "One of the things that always stood out about the molars from Denisova was that they were quite large," he added. The proposed relationship between Homo juluensis and Denisovans is based mainly on similarities in dental characteristics, particularly molar size and bite surfaces.

However, more research is needed to confirm the connection between Homo juluensis and the Denisovans.

3 U.S. Citizen children deported to Honduras, legal concerns raised -- deported "with no meaningful process" according to judge

Three U.S. citizen children were deported to Honduras from Louisiana, sparking national outrage and prompting a U.S. District Judge to criticize the deportation process as lacking "meaningful process."

U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty wrote that the toddler, identified as VML, had been sent to Honduras on Friday, alongside her mother and sister, even as the court had sought to clarify the girl's status.

"The Government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her," Doughty wrote. "But the Court doesn't know that."

Additional cases

Another Honduran mother was deported with her two U.S. citizen children, ages 4 and 7

Per AP: The 4-year-old — who is suffering from a rare form of cancer — and the 7-year-old were deported to Honduras within a day of being arrested with their mother, Willis said.

To See Who Jesus Is

“He entered Jericho and was passing through. And there was a man called by the name of Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector and he was rich. Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way. When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, ‘Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.’ And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly. When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, ‘He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.’ Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, ‘Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.’” (Luke 19:1-10 NASB1995)

As I was reading this passage of Scripture this morning, I got stopped at this point: “Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd.” I believe this is a picture of the spiritual situation we are in here in America, where I live. Many people today are not able to see who Jesus really is because the crowd (the majority) is not presenting him as he really is, in truth. But they are presenting a false impression of who he is in order to appease human flesh and to not offend the ungodly of this world.

But Zaccheus was persistent, and he did not let the crowd deter him from seeing who Jesus was. So he climbed to a higher place in order to see the Lord. And that is what we have to do, too. We cannot rely on the image other people give us of Jesus, which may be distorted, but we must climb higher in order to be able to see him. We must get into the Scriptures ourselves (older translations preferred) to see what they say about Jesus and what all he was about, and what he taught, so we get the truth.

And when Zaccheus climbed up into this tree in order to see Jesus, Jesus looked up, saw him, and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

Now, according to the Scriptures, not one of us can come to faith in Jesus Christ unless God draws us to him, i.e. unless God the Father persuades us as to his holiness and righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to repent of our sins and to follow our Lord in obedience to his commands. So, for Zaccheus to seek out Jesus, as he did, God the Father must have been drawing him to the Lord. And Zaccheus then sought out the Lord, even against some obstacles that could have possibly deterred him from that.

And Satan is going to throw all kinds of obstacles in our paths, hoping that we will not respond to the persuasion of our Lord, and that we will not persevere in seeking out the Lord in getting to know who he really is. And these kinds of obstacles are all over the place – on social media, in these institutional market-driven “churches” (businesses), in “Christian” song lyrics, in “Christian” movies, TV shows, cartoons, some “Christian” memes and devotions, and in many modern-day preachers’ sermons and books.

So, if we really want to seek the Lord, to get to know him intimately, to know who he really is and why he died on that cross, we must be students of the Scriptures who study them in their appropriate context. For many lies are being spread about our Lord, and about his purpose in giving his life up for us on that cross, and what it means to be “saved” from our sins. So, this is where we really get to know the Lord intimately, when we let him “stay at our house,” and we persist in getting to know him and in following after him.

Now, when Zaccheus listened to Jesus, and he did what the Lord told him to do, and when he received the Lord gladly, he immediately faced criticism from the crowd. And when we hear the voice of the Lord speaking to us, and we listen to him, and we follow him where he leads us in doing what he calls us to do and to be, “the crowds” will criticize us, too. And we will be mocked, falsely accused, thought crazy, persecuted, rejected, cast aside as unwanted, and completely disregarded by many, even by other professing “Christians.”

But Zaccheus did not let the opinions of others deter him from following Jesus. That day he met Jesus, and he repented of any known sins, and he decided to make restitution for any wrong he committed. That day his heart was changed away from a life of sin to a life of one who desired to obey the Lord with his life and to no longer walk in sin. And Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house.” And we will have salvation when we give it all up to follow Jesus with our lives in surrender to his will for our lives.

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

But our salvation is not just forgiveness of all sins so that we can go to heaven when we die. If our salvation is of God, we will die with Christ to sin, and we will now walk with him in obedience to his commands, by his grace, in his power. For if sin is still what we practice, and not obedience to our Lord, then we do not have salvation from sin and eternal life with God. For Jesus died to put our sins to death with him so we will now die to sin and live to him and to his righteousness, in the power of God, by his grace.

What??? Indiana lieutenant governor calls Three-Fifths Compromise ‘a great move’

Indiana’s lieutenant governor is facing backlash from some of the state’s religious and civil rights leaders after he called the Three-Fifths Compromise, which counted each Black enslaved person as three-fifths of a human being for the purposes of taxation and representation, “a great move” that led to the abolishment of slavery.
Democrats in the Indiana Senate had on Thursday argued against a bill that curbed diversity, equity and inclusion programs by comparing it to the Three-Fifths Compromise. The debate prompted Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith (R) to take to X to rebuke the Democrats for thinking the agreement made at the 1787 Constitutional Convention “was some sort of terrible thing in our past.”.....
The comments drew condemnations from the Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis, the Indiana Chapter of the National Action Network and the Alliance of Baptists. In a joint statement Friday, the groups said Beckwith’s take on the compromise was itself “historical revisionism,” and asked Indiana Gov. Mike Braun (R) to publicly denounce Beckwith’s comments.
“Let us be clear: the Three-Fifths Compromise was never about compromise; it was about control,” the groups said. “It was about counting enslaved African bodies for political power while denying them humanity, freedom, and rights. To call this a ‘great move’ is not only historically inaccurate but morally repugnant.”
That Lt. Governor is trying to change historical facts. To consider a person who be only 3/5ths of a human person is disgusting, and it did not work against slavery. He needs to eat his words.

Jesus and John the baptist

I have two related questions…
did Jesus and John the Baptist know they were related through their mothers?
secondly
i was under the impression John knew Jesus was the Christ as he baptized him calling him the lamb of God… yet in prison he asks …are you the one we been waiting for or should we look for another?

Only Three Are Tormented Eternally

Revelation Twenty:

10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire

and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are.

And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

[
note: not second death]

Revelation Twenty-One
:

7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things,

and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers,

sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars

shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire

and brimstone, which is the second death.

The Second Death is Death not torment Duh!

ECT for the unsaved is a cruel lie against the Lord,

and such who hold this belief are anathema, deceived

by a vain attempt to "scare sinners straight" by telling

them they will spend an eternity in fiery torment.

Salvation is received one way, in Love. You can drop the

scare tactics, show them the Love of the Father.
