In today's world it is important to strive to attain credibility and recognition in order to gain influence over others around us. This way people are in a better position to help others who are less educated, have lesser income, or have a lower place in life. That is the way of this world. However, this is not so in the kingdom of heaven for those who claim to be in Christ. God does not care about your wealth, fame, or title. He does not care about how many people you have influence over, how much education you may have, or what you have accomplished in this world. The ONLY thing He cares about is that you are truly His humble servant who lives out each day serving His kingdom for His purpose. Who then gets all the recognition, honor, and glory for your efforts? God of course, because ONLY He is worthy to be praised.
"Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe." (1 Corinthians 1:20-21). The Lord does not care if you memorize scriptures, carry a title in your local church, or do good deeds for mankind. He ONLY wants you to be a humble servant here in this world. Thus, who is first in the kingdom of heaven? It is the lowly and humble servant of the kingdom in this world.
"For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. Brothers, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast in His presence. It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 1:25-31).
