What Paul Prayed For: Abundant Love And Unity!

We have seen many spiritual themes that Paul prayed for ranging from godliness to strength to grace and others that I have mentioned. What time won't permit me to mention now is how he prayed for other prayer themes such as for

*ministerial opportunities to abound for him - Romans 1:9-11, Romans 15:30-31, Ephesians 6:19, Colossians 1:10, 1 Thessalonians 3:10, 2 Thessalonians 3:1

*Hope - Romans 15:13

*fullness of God - Ephesians 3:17-19

These amidst many other prayer themes are what Paul prayed for

However one other prayer theme he prayed for that I will love to use to end this series of teaching was his prayer for ABUNDANCE OF LOVE AND UNITY! Here we these prayers set out in the Epistles.

Philippians 1:9, "And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;"

When our love abounds we will be able to prove what is excellent, live with sincerity and free of offense before all! Hallelujah!

Again in 1 Thessalonians 3:12 he said, "And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you" (Also 2 Thessalonians 3:5)

And wherever we found love it naturally produces the fruits of UNITY. Paul prayed for the unity of the church in Romans 15:5-6, "Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ"

Love and unity will bring the church into the fullness of God and the highest manifestation and experience of his power and glory on the earth. Remember in Ephesians 3:15-20 where Paul prayed that we might know the love of God so that we can experience his fullness! This is what the church needs now more than ever!

Psalm 133:1-3 tells us as long as we are united we will be anointed! And this scripture practically played out in Acts 4:24-31 where the bible says they lifted up their 'voice', just one voice. And as they did God poured out his anointing, his blessing, over the church!

I believe strongly in my heart that unity of purpose is what we facilitate the greatest move of God on the earth! For really the church doesn't need to agree in doctrines as it needs to agree on purpose! This is why Paul said it doesn't matter whether you are of Cephas, or Apollos or of Paul, what matters is that Christ is preached!
