We Are Not Born Free

I saw in a dream men being harassed and goaded by evil men. They had done nothing wrong to deserve the treatment and as I watched I was helpless to stop the torture or to rescue anyone from the fate that had taken them. Those being tortured did not turn to speak out against their adversaries nor did they run or fight back on their behalf. I, for my part, did not stand up for them. I only watched and cried out as they were beaten or pushed down.

We are not born into freedom. In our vanity and arrogance, we believe we (Americans) are born
into some special protection. We have no guarantee of life or liberty or pursuit of happiness. This was delusional.

We are free to choose. Choose righteousness or sin, good or evil. So long as God was our
king, we enjoyed His blessing and protection and we knew freedom. But, just as God gave
freedom to man in the garden, but man chose to enslave himself to sin, God had given freedom to man when he discovered this new world. But after 500 years, man chose to follow his own ways.

The end result of our choice can be nothing but death, for the wages of sin is death. But our
God is longsuffering to us, in that, as he repented himself of the destruction of Nineveh as Jonah sat to watch the judgment, God can still place his hand of protection over us again.

But if we do not repent in sackcloth and ashes, He will surely spare none of us from utter
annihilation. The old shall be burned on the alter of vengeance. Those of strength shall
become slaves to satan and shall serve him night and day without cease for a hundred years. The poor shall be slaughtered in the streets by their own hand, taken in their wickedness and lusts and hatred. The children will learn the ways of pleasure and greed and will grow more and more sinful, doing things never conceived by man before, until the children’s children’s children have filled their time. Then shall the Word be revealed again as it was in the days of Josiah. And a child shall lead them.

See how He stands at His throne, stretching out His hand to rescue and redeem. Hear his
voice in the thunder and earth’s convulsions and see the power of His Spirit as it refreshes and cleanses the world of its perversions. If anyone will hear and obey His will, he will not be
harmed by anything man may devise against him, but will be taken away, absent in body but
present with our Lord and King, Jesus Christ.

I, though, sit under the shade tree and await judgment. I am very afraid and sad for what will
happen to my generation. Lord Jesus, reveal yourself in a mighty way before an evil and
self-centered people who do not know You. Let this cup pass from us, but not our will but thine
be done
