The Grace To Be Conquerors

The Grace to be Conquerors

"For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.”
(Exodus 33:16 NKJV)

One of the ways to be sure that God has shown you mercy is His abiding presence. Moses was saying to God "if we, as Your people, have found favour in your sight, then come with us."
What Jesus wrought on the Cross of Calvary gave us access to the very presence of God. By His blood, we can go boldly to the throne of grace.
Another effect of God's grace upon a people or individuals, as pointed out by Moses, is separation from the world system. It takes the grace of God for a people to be in the world and not be partakers in the immoralities therein.
The grace of God causes a sharp separation between a man and the world system. Rules and regulations are not enough to separate us from the corruptions in the world. This does not mean that we become careless in the name of depending on God's mercy, but it must be clear to us that God has the power to refrain us from sinning against Him. An example of this was when Abimelech took Sarah, Abraham's wife. (Genesis 20:1-6) God said in verse 6
"And God said to him in a dream, “Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her." (Genesis 20:6 NKJV) Abimelechi, by his own will would have wanted to touch Sarah, but God restrained him from doing it. This was a measure of God's grace unto him. We may have struggled all along with a form of sin or a sinful habit. We may have employed all methods to no avail. Can we now request that God will show us mercy over such issues?
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”
(II Chronicles 16:9 NKJV)
Maintain a loyal heart to God, invite Him into your life to show Himself mighty over that particular sin or sinful habit. Do not excuse it, do not rationalise it! Approach the Almighty Father in heaven for help. He is our presence help in time of need.

ACTION PLAN: Quit struggling to overcome sins and sinful habits. Request for God's mercy over them.

PRAYER: Father put an end to my personal efforts to overcome sin and sinful habits. Grant me Your grace to be an overcomer all the days of my life.
