A Lamp Unto My Feet

Every disciple in Christ is on the spiritual journey with Jesus, whose light shines a way for our path (Psalms 119:105). We passed through the gate of conversion (2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:3) and embarked onto the path of discipleship (John 8:31, 2 Timothy 2:15, Matthew 28:18-20).

• This journey brings change, not because we have to change, but because we want to change (2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 12:2), becoming imitators of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). None of us will always make the right decisions (Romans 3:23).
• Jesus is the only one who is perfect among us (1 Peter 2:22). We will stumble, but Jesus (and our fellow travelers on this journey) are there to help us get back up (Romans 14:13, James 3:2).
• The further the distance we travel on our journey, the more we learn about God from His Holy Spirit (John 14:26), who is with us.
• I've learned how to better listen to Him and learn, though His Word (2 Timothy 3:16) and how to better talk with Him through prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
• As we continue our travels, we will learn more deeply who God is (Exodus 3:14, Hebrews 3:4), who Jesus is (John 14:6, John 10:30, 1 Timothy 2:5) and what He did (John 1:14, 1 Corinthians 8:6), and who the Holy Spirit is (Romans 8:26) and what He does for us (1 Corinthians 3:16, Galatians 5:22-23).

Father in Heaven, Lead us to be kind to one another along this journey (Ephesians 4:32, John 13:34-35) and learn together (Proverbs 27:17). Amen.
