Scripture tells us in Matthew 12:34b "...For a man's heart determines his speech." It also says, "In everything you do, stay away from compaining and arguing." Philippians 2:14.
So how do I do this? I believe that Philippians 4:8 tells me how to do this: "Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whateer things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things."
So here are is some food for thought.
True - honest, genuine, authentic, sincere, faithful, accurate, truthful
Noble - superior, honorable, excellent, high quality
Just - proper, lawful, right, correct, upright, fair
Pure - spotless, clean, clear, undefiled
Lovely - pleasing, agreeable, charming, splendid
Good Report - worthwhile, recommended, positive, worthy of repeating
Virtuous - moral, ethical, good, upright
Praiseworthy - valuable, applauded, glorified, exalted, honored, approved.
Matthew 12:36 tells us, "We will give account of every idle word in the day of judgement."
Idle - having no use or value; worthless; useless; idle talk; idle rumors
So the challenge at this point in time, is that God should direct the words that I speak, and that I fill my mind with things that will move me closer to Him.
May you be truly blessed, and may God give us mercy.
