CEO worship is making a revival today. Christianity likewise, once gave a nod to Constantine and his mom, for Constantine offered them a chance to become street legal.
But it wasn't free. In return gentile Christianity sold it's soul back to the world of man for a chance at power and glory of it's own, accepting a chance to rule with empires and kingdoms and eventually over them, just as Jesus had once been offered but rejected.
Was this a sell out of Jesus and His Kingdom? Yes, but necessary in order to have scripture forwarded to this day by those who ignored the Kingdom of God to build their own. God knew what He was doing when He chose the gentiles to forward His message as the house of Israel scattered and diminished.
Gentile Christians had chosen to return to the world of man so as a result they then could not teach a Gospel which opposed that. They diverted attention away from the Kingdom and it's ethics to fit in with their new partner. But God knew the discerning would find truth in the scripture that they had no choice in keeping, yet kept from the public for centuries for that very reason.
The truth has always been in the scriptures, not the doctrines or religions of self serving man.
