Man creates institutions. Jesus did not.
What is called “church” depends upon the definition of church. Those, who today have long claimed authourity, weren't the first human institution, let alone official institution. Institutions are an institution of man. Man calls church one thing, God calls it another. Jesus said His church (His government/Kingdom) would be built upon truth from God, not from man’s interpretations (remember - who does man say I am?). He gave us a way of life highlighted in His two commandments and also a direct path to God once again through Him, not by way of those who claimed to speak for Him. We have a direct line. Most importantly, He gave us the Kingdom, a counter-culture to the world of man. Yet man’s amalgamated churches preferred to once again align Itself with the world of man instead, mimicking secular government, not the way of the Kingdom. Authourity over servitude.
Which should we focus upon to seek the Kingdom; the institution and the tradition, or upon scripture given by the Kingdom? Obviously, scripture, because His only Gospel was of the Kingdom and man has set it aside to build their own kingdoms while substituting other gospels. Kind of like how other countries once reverse engineered North American tech to make up their own gadgets.
The universal churches have served a purpose, ironically keeping scripture alive until it could branch on its own in spite of objections, but the time of the gentiles is coming to a close.
The Kingdom will once again prevail as the nations and governments of man (both secular and religious) will succumb to the one true way.
