  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Protestors Protesting Protestors

Is it Christianity that seems to be under attack? Or is it merely political factions within Christianity that make it appear that way?

This is what happens when the wrong side of a coin becomes the predominant voice. This is the worldly side of the coin of religion acting in worldly ways that has caused conflict with the worldly kind on the other side of their political/societal fence within religion. Why is it so easy for Christians to point fingers at the fanatics of other religions, but not our own?

Rather than pointing out faults/sins all the time, it seems to me a main reason Christianity in the world was originally found to be so acceptable for centuries, was not due to finding fault, but by simply presenting goodness in deed and message by comparison. Kind of like when some armies were once seen as peacekeepers rather than the aggressors or hired guns of industry that they have become.

How do these worldly Christians, people who have not yet repented of the ways of man, transcended by rebirth into the realm of the Kingdom, expect to change anything by following the ways of man rather than the ways of God? What is it about acting adversarial to the will of God that these worldly Christians don't get? Adversarial being the way of the Adversary, they are acting in the same way towards each other. Are they mistaken or actually are they knowingly serving the Adversary?

By setting a good example, how long does it take for that which is 'wrong' to be exposed for what it is? What separates a bully from a good kid? In either case it is a matter of deeds and actions.

Why do the worldly insist on shining a spotlight on that which they see as wrong, when in fact they are simply giving more exposure to whatever that perceived wrong may be. As a result it is elevating it to a position of attention gathering predominance even though it remains in the minority.

Human nature tends to be attracted to shiny things, to the underdog. So we end up with minority ways having their moment in the sun, just like society went nuts over platform shoes, disco, men's plaid pants, or bubblegum pop, only to later see the error of their ways. Minorities have gone from meaning in number to any behaviour not considered 'normal' by of all things the 'majority'. We have progressed to no minority left behind .

Seems to me it's time for those of the Kingdom and their worldly counterparts to come together and live as God intended. Not mimicking the adversarial ways of the Adversary, but shining the light on good while giving no acknowledgement to bad. Go and sin no more.
