Motions Of Sin

"For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death" (Romans 7:5 NKJV)

Motion: An impulse or inclination of the mind or will (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
There is an impulse, an inclination that rules and regulations aroused in us towards sin. These arousals towards sin are very consuming. It therefore means that rules and regulations outside what Jesus accomplished on the Cross are fruitless in our effort to overcome sin. They cannot help us achieve victory over sin but rather makes us proud. Everything we strive to achieve by the law will only produce fruit unto death.
Can you remember a personal principle you developed to help you resist sin? How effective has it been? It may produce results for a while but afterwards, everything collapsed and you go back to square zero. "By strength shall no man prevail". You cannot prevail against sin with your strength.
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21 KJV)
Jesus is the only way out of sin. He came to deliver us from the power of sin. After you have accepted Him, He will grant you victory over sin by His grace. He will also reveal kingdom principles that will help you to remain victorious in life.

ACTION PLAN: Quit struggling to stop sinning with your strength today, come to Jesus and receive strength to overcome it everyday.

PRAYER: Father, today I quit fighting to overcome sin with my strength, I surrender to Jesus for help to become victorious all the days of my life.
