Messianic Prophecy Fulfilled By Jesus Christ - Part 4 of 4
* Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
** Matthew 21:4-11 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, 7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. 8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. 9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? 11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

Now read a special portion of Scripture that can be viewed as a summary of the teaching Jesus gave His followers between His resurrection from the dead and His ascension back to heaven:
** Luke 24:44-49 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things. 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
The power spoken of in Verse 49 above is the Holy Spirit of God. The coming of the Holy Spirit of God was also foretold - to list a few references: Isaiah 44:3, Ezekiel 36:27, Joel 2:28.
I compiled this material because I find it fascinating, and I want to use it in sharing the Gospel of the Grace of God. I'm sure that you'll be able to find much more that I didn't list here, but I hope this helps you also. I think that it's safe to say that trying to quantify the probability of all of these things happening would involve outrageously large numbers. So, let's just say that they did happen - and they had to happen at the supernatural direction of God Himself. Remember - there's MUCH MORE.
