"So our conclusion is this: God’s wonderful declaration that we are righteous in his eyes can only come when we put our faith in Christ, and not in keeping the law." (Romans 3:28 TPT)
God declared us righteous before Him only by our faith in Christ. All our righteousnesses are filthy rags before Him. Does this then mean we are to stop good works? God forbid, our good works after accepting the lordship of Jesus over our lives, is wrought by grace and faith in Him. It does not depend on our strengths and abilities anymore.
What the laws demand can only be effectively practiced by the grace that Christ brought us. Nevertheless, when we accept Christ, we are no longer under the laws.
Our righteousness is inputted unto us by our faith in Christ Jesus. Our accounts are credited with Jesus' righteousness and in it we stand justified before God all the times, if we don't keep sinning. Sin is a reproach to anyone, it alianiate us from God and isolate us for slaughter by the devil. Sin makes the power of God impotent in our lives and situations. The devil is our greatest enemy because he seeks every opportunity to introduce sin into our lives. Sin will separate us from God and His divine protection.
Rather than spend countless hours praying against witches and wizards, wage a warfare against Satan who is seeking to introduce sin into your life and render you impotent. Your focus, after accepting Christ, should be how to remain undefiled by Satan, sin, self and the world system. These are your primary enemies of progress in life. Continue to wage a warfare of faith against them.
ACTION PLAN: Where lies your confidence? Is it in your works and righteousness or Jesus' righteousness? Enter into your rest today, trust in the finished work on the Cross.
PRAYER: Father, don't allow the devil to deceive me into relying on my righteousness. Help me to trust in the finished works of Jesus on the Cross.
