"For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, to the educated and uneducated alike." (Romans 1:14 NLT)
This same great sense of obligation to preach the Gospel must be bestowed on us. Without it, our work for God will be lethargic and without much effect. Somehow in our minds, we are eager to proclaim the Gospel to the poor, but very reluctant to do same to the rich. This error has it foundation in the prosperity gospel. Jesus did not come into the world to give us money.
"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”(Matthew 1:21 NKJV)
Jesus came to deliver us from our sins. Sin is our common denominator for our need for Jesus, and not poverty. Both the rich and the poor came into the world with the nature of sin.
Educational enlightenment must not deter us from preaching the Gospel to someone. Someone may be enlightened educationally and still remain in darkness of sin.
The church must plead with God for the blessedness of obligation of preaching the Gospel of Christ. The reason is because Jesus is the only solution to all human challenges. No other solution will deliver human race from the impending dangers.
Let us genuinely sing the chorus below with conviction in our hearts:
"Jesus is the answer for the world, above Him there is no other, Jesus is the way. If you have some questions at the corners of your heart and traces of discouragement seems to face you everyday but this one thing I do know that Jesus is the Way."
ACTION PLAN: Individually, we need to become convinced of the truth that Jesus is the Answer for the our world today. Without this, we will not make much progress with evangelizing the world.
PRAYER: Father, help my heart to know that Jesus is the way out of my everyday challenges. Bring me under obligation to proclaim same to the world.
