Every effort of the devil is to separate us from God. He seeks to achieve this either by threats from the outside as in the case of Daniel or introducing sin on the inside. A man that is separated from God has been isolated by the devil for slaughter.
There are activities and indulgences the devil introduce into our lives to achieve his aim. He may allow you to spend a little more extra time on the social media and TV. These activities are not evil in themselves, but taken a little too far will definitely deflate us and set in motion our process of separation from God. How about our affection and devotion to sporting clubs? Supporting a football club is not evil in itself, but when it become an addiction, then it will begin to eat up our devotion to God. Everything must be done with moderation and self-control.
ACTION PLAN: We must be on the look out for anything that seek to form a bad habit in us. We must isolate such and uproot it by the help of God.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to be sensitive to wiles of the devil.
