I Follow Jesus Not Moses

Hello LoveGodsWord,

Thank you for your response. I just noticed it this minute after hoping to hear from someone all day....

I am still confused by your answer....do we keep the sabbath today and risk rejection by God or not. Your first words were "no dear friend". You then say we must obey all 10 of God's commandments.

So do you refuse to work on Saturdays? Do you refuse to work on the first day of passover? Are you committed to not allowing anyone else work for you on Saturdays? This is a requirement of keeping the sabbath.

Circumcision is also a command of God, though not one of the 10. Is that also in effect? What about dietary laws? Sacrificial laws? Civil laws? Which ones are we to keep and which ones are obsolete? Who decided which are which?

Heb 8
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

I live under a new contract with God established by Jesus and sealed in his blood. Can you explain the 13th verse particularly the tense of decay and wax old with the word ready? Soon there would be no more Jewish nation...no temple...no sacrifices...no priests. The end of the age.

Hebrews is an amazing book about Jewish christians who are thinking life would be a lot easier if they returned to Judaism. Problem is, once you have tasted the goodness of God in Jesus Christ, you can't go back or you will be crucifying Jesus all over again (ch6)

The deal we have with Jesus is based on a better law, a better high priest, a better sacrifice, a better temple....etc.

Not one jot or tittle will pass from the law or prophets till all be fulfilled...it is fulfilled.

I follow Jesus not Moses.
