God's Provision For Overcoming Sin

"For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice]," (Romans 8:3 AMPC)

Everything the law commanded are right but due to the weakness of human nature, the law becomes ineffective. It lacks the capacity to help people in obeying God. The only and most important deficiency in human nature is the lack of the Holy Spirit. The death and resurrection of Jesus brought the Holy Spirit to us in a manner that He can dwell in us. The Bible says after Jesus has ascended into heaven, He gave gifts unto men.
Jesus came to represent our sin, He carried our sinful nature to the Cross and ended its power for everyone that accepts Him as their Lord and personal Saviour. The death of Jesus on the Cross terminated the power of sin. It is very important to note that every spiritual exercise, including prayers, will not avail in helping us overcome sin. It is the finished work on the Cross that aborted the sin business.

ACTION PLAN: It is important for you to acknowledge the truth that nothing can wash away your sin and keep you from sinning, aside the work of Calvary.

PRAYER: Father, today I confess my sins to you, grant me power to overcome them through the finished work on the Cross.
