One of the fiery darts of the devil in this end time is doubt about our salvation. He wants to bring us to a point where we doubt our sonship or daughtership with God. He achieves this by arranging several incidences that will make us query our salvation. He has been known to be a lier and father of all lies: so he keeps lying to us about our standing with God. He can suggest something like this "if you are a child of God, why do you still feel lust in your heart". Whereas, he is the same person that bombarded you with all manner of lustful thoughts. He will then turn around and accuse you of being a sinner.
One of the major signs of being born again is if you still enjoy sin and sinful habit. Like in the senario above, do you enjoy the lustful thoughts he is shooting at you? If no, praise God, quickly repent of it and ask God to help you against it. Jesus said "Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”
(Matthew 26:41 NLT). Prayerlessness will make us to give in to temptations from the devil.
What is it that gives us right standing before God? Faith in the finished work on the Cross! We have been made right in God’s sight by faith. We are now righteous before God by faith.
We are at peace with God and He is at peace with us because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. This is the victory that overcome the devil: even our faith. Enoch was able to walk with God by faith, without faith we cannot please Him.
ACTION PLAN: As a believer identify evil thoughts and lust for what they are: they are fiery darts from the enemy. After confessing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you are no longer powerless against him.
PRAYER: 1. Father, uproot doubt and unbelief from my heart. Give me faith that can move mountains.
2. Deliver me from evil thoughts and lust of the heart.
