Right from the middle of the month of May, the word restoration has been lurking in one corner of my heart. The Holy Spirit was tugging at my heart: there will be a returning, a repositioning and a restoration of all that has been lost in years past. Whatever has been lost to years of indecision, hesitancy, procrastination, missed opportunities, missed direction of the Holy Spirit; the Spirit of God is restoring them now!
There was an express directive from Isaiah 42:22, "But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore", to SPEAK RESTORATION every day of the remaining days of this year!
There was incarceration because there was no restoration and the reason there was no restoration was because there was no declaration of restoration. No one to saith restored, they were mute and so they remained snared and hid in prison holes. The only way out is to speak restoration. Our restoration, therefore, begins with our declaration of RESTORATION! And so it became a spiritual order from that moment every day to wake up and speak restoration! And as I speak I am beginning to see! And as you speak you will begin to see. Amen
And just when I thought it was over for the month of May, the Spirit of God brought further insights from Joel 2:21-30 on what the work of restoration constitutes! We all know these scriptures. In verses 25 specifically, the word restore was used!
Joel 2:25 we read, ‘25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you’
God promised to restore the years gone by and lost to the works of the enemy! And that is what he will do in your life! However what God promised in verse 25 is a spiritual by-product of what will happen in verse 23. Here the Lord promised an outpouring of His Spirit upon us and then in verse 24 downwards the bible begins to tell us what the effect of that outpouring will be: restoration, abundance and plenty!
Joel 2:23-26, ‘Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed’
For the purpose of removing all doubts, in verse 28 God spoke in clear terms what he meant by rain, he put it very clear: it is the outpouring of my Spirit upon all flesh. Fast forward to Acts 2, the word was fulfilled and from Acts 4 the effect of that outpouring of the Spirit begins to resemble what the Bible outlined in verses 24-27 of Joel which in summary meant abundance and plenty. For in verse 34 of Acts 4 the bible says there was none among them that lacked! Once the Spirit of God was restored to the church every other thing lost was restored, and the church began to revel in plenty and abundance!
‘33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold’
The outpouring of God's Spirit is the real work of restoration. Every other restoration in our lives follows this first order of restoration!

What Adam and consequently humanity lost in the fall was the Spirit of God. The Spirit was the one behind the creation and was the power at work in Adam when he named all the animals and walked in dominion! But once it was lost humanity was put into disarray. All of Christ work while here on the earth was to prepare us and pave way for the restoration of that Spirit. So when he was to leave here the majority of his message was centred on the restoration of that Spirit of God (John 14,16). Jesus knows that our beauty will emerge when the Spirit of God is restored! Up until the last minute he keeps telling them, wait till 'you are endued with power from on high'. That's all that matters!
