"Jesus saith unto her,
"Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.""
Is Jesus (Who is God) really saying He has a God?
In other words, does God have a God?
Well, in the beginning of the gospel of John, it says this...
John 1:1-2 KJV - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God. The same was in the beginning with...
Its evident there's tension and anger..I can even see it cross over into the forums.
I think one obvious step is to of course hear each other out and make an effort to understand each person's point of view. However, the problem with that is that things can get heated really quickly and just deter from the intended goal.
Equality is what everyone is obviously crying from their soul, from whites concerning proper news coverage when it comes to black on white crimes..or just crimes...
If someone divorced their spouse in a sinful way, and then remarried, ive heard it said that God would forgive their sin, and they move on with the next marriage.
Firstly, is the second marriage recognised by God, and if not, doesnt this make the second marriage, an ongoing sinful adulterous relationship that shouldnt continue?
So forgiveness in that context couldnt validate more of the same?
We just had a sermon on divorce, so its a question that was raised.
Just a wider, more philosophical question about these 2 things. Although polygamy isnt widely practised today, but is Biblically accepted as non-sinful, and even as a gift (2 sam 2) from God. And given that divorce is only sinful as the break up of a God given union, except where there has been immorality. Doesnt this case of divorce allowable after immorality imply that polygamy isnt immoral?
Could polygamy be a way for people to remain "married", but separated, but to have another partner?
So people who are for the death penalty, should they then be given the death penalty?
Who then will cast the first stone?
This is not going to be some long winded word game. It is easy.
1) God's Word is True, incontrovertibly true.
2) Scripture is God's Word.
3) Scripture is incontrovertibly true.
4) Prove another source of incontrovertible truth.
5) No other physical source of incontrovertible truth on earth has been proven.
By default, there is only Sola Scriptura.
Yes, there have been multiple threads on SS. The problem is that all the attacks on SS put the burden to prove there are no other...
So the concept of Sola Scriptura, which I shall reference as SS from now on, has been in debate here for the past few days it seems. After reading and watching and debating on a few threads myself, I decided to make a new thread in regards to the issues with this concept.
This will be a long post, please read entirely before responding
First, here is the definition of SS: is a Christian theological doctrine which holds that the Christian Scriptures are the supreme authority in all matters...
One of the common claims by the "Creation Science" community is that they use the same evidence as "Mainstream Science", but come to different conclusions with that same evidence.
Now retired, I was a member of the mainstream scientific community for some 30 years, only becoming aware of the plethora of "creation science" literature with respect to the earth sciences about 10 years ago. To say the least, this drew my attention with incredible disbelief in what they were presenting. Not...
In another thread a comment was made that "homosexuals, porn stars and druggies" will not go to heaven, but those people who are called "Bible thumpers" will be there.
My response to that statement was as follows:
"All those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, who have confessed their sins and repented will be in heaven. Yes, that will include many "homosexuals, porn stars and druggies." And yes, many self-righteous "Bible thumpers," those who might proclaim Jesus with their...
The pope seems to think so
I'm no expert interpreter of the Bible, or a novice at that lol.
But it seems the bible also eludes to it.
Matthew 25:31-46 the sheep and the goats
But we get verses like
Psalm 14 A fool says in his heart there is no God
Then again we get
But also verses like
People would argue that to believe in Jesus is to do the will of the Father,...
