doing a DVD re-watching marathon this weekend...finished the Hobbit trilogy and have started on the Lord of The Rings trilogy.
pancakes and strawberries are on the menu for breakfast this morning. Looks to be a lovely Summer's day outside; the birds are singing and the 2 grey squirrels are outside running across the parking lot.

I do, really. It's encouraging to see the good guys winning for a change.
What's even more encouraging is to see that small. seemingly insignificant hobbits can take on their fair share of the burden and still make a difference in a very large world. Even though it's fiction, sometimes things do work out that way in the real world.

We had great fun. This movie was a little more cerebral than the first few Iron Man / Avengers movies. Be that as it may it had lots of action and excitement. We plan to see San Andreas next Saturday morning.

trying out my new mini crock pot today.
I cut up some pieces of beef chuck roast, added BBQ sauce, and a spoon of Apple wood rub to the pot.
It's supposed to be done by 6 pm tonight. I plan to serve it spooned over a bed of rice for dinner, so we'll see how it comes out!

the package of meat was 3 lbs and i only used a pound for the crock pot today. the rest of the meat was cut up, bagged, and set in the freezer for future meals.
