People should actually read this and the other article I posted and stop saying things about that silly Starbucks cup that simply aren't true. http://thefederalist.com/2015/11/10...bout-the-starbucks-cup-stop-saying-otherwise/

Even Fox News is reporting that this is a non issue: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015...bout-starbucks-cup-stop-saying-otherwise.html

http://www.businessinsider.com/no-one-cares-about-starbucks-red-cups-2015-11

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...e-about-starbucks-cups-heres-what-we-do-know/

So people, stop acting as if there is really something to this story. There's not except in your own heads. And you look silly for it.

BTW, I went to a Christian owned coffee shop yesterday. Their cups are white and the sleeve is blue with white snowflakes. No one protested the war on Christmas outside their store. No one boycotted them for not displaying "Jesus Love You" on their cups. But they did enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee!

But Starbucks isn't taking religion off their cups. Starbucks never had religion on their cups in the first place. Why does nobody get this?
I know! It's almost funny.

John and his two buddies, I see from time to time. John is on the Autistic Spectrum, which although it allows him to be better at some things than others, it has caused me some concern in our conversations. (I joke a lot where he works. It is when I drop in to see the other staff members. I only advise there on old personnel issues. I dont' really have anymore work there, but because it is a public place, occasionally I drop in to see staff, and sometimes talk.)

Knowing that it takes a long time for you to know a person is joking, is allowing me to handle every single one of our conversations, (He is really really nice too.), now, that I did not understand, before.

Well. I can tell some people are joking in person sometimes. Not always though. But that's only because I learned how to recognize it. What someone can realize naturally, I have to learn through trial and error. It's called being mind-blind, which means I can't really read body language. I can only memorize reactions to certain stimuli, etc, over the course of my life. So, because I've been exposed to people who joke around all the time, I can usually recognize it but only in instances that match my expectations. Every once in a while I might meet a person who jokes in a different way that isn't obvious. So then I have to relearn and then add that to my collection.

Not every autistic person is like that, though I know a majority of us prefer straightforward people and honesty. So while it may be obvious to some people you're joking, it's helpful if you say so for those of us who can't recognize it as easily. I'm not that bad in recognizing it, but I realize there are also people on the spectrum who do not have my unique perspective, and they may also take things very much more literally than I do. I can understand metaphors, for instance. Some people on the spectrum are more like Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy in that they can't recognize that kind of abstract language. It's a 'spectrum' for a reason.

I am rambling though. And this is a Starbucks thread, so I'll finish up this post and whatnot. If you wanna talk more about it you could always PM me I suppose.

It is the time, I take with him, to make sure he knows, that he knows precisely with me, what my intentions are, and were, in some to many conversations, that makes it work perfectly between us.

I prefer when people are up front and honest with me like this, because I know exactly where I stand in relation to them, and vice versa. It makes it so much easier and is actually a stress relief since we don't have to keep wondering.

John by the way was a school counselor in High School. He still works, he just doesn't get paid for it, and he has been donating his time for over 12 years. When he is at work, I cannot tell that he is not a paid employee. He is that dedicated and concentrating.

Maybe he has an intense interest or two that relates to his work. That might explain why he's that dedicated. But I don't know John, so I can't really say for sure. Maybe that job just makes complete sense to him so he's found his place in society, idk.

I'm still trying to figure things out for me.

Anyway. Back on topic. Yeah. Starbucks is about appealing to its consumers first and foremost. Of course commercialism has a huge part in it. The company wants to maximize profits, not religious or other ideologies.

So these big companies are anyone's for the taking and dont have any morals to stand on. They will sell themselves to the highest bidder.
So do most people. Maybe next year. They will put the Hanukkah logo on their Xmas cup. Since the owners are said to be Jewish.

Its more about commercialism that religion. Multinationals like Starbucks dont care about religion one way or the other. What they do care about is their profits. So if it is deemed that taking Christmas out of the equations is more politically correct and appeals to the majority of their customers then that is what they will do based on a commercial decision. Starbucks also has some halal products to cater for any customers who are Muslims. Their stores in Indonesia are fully halal. So if more customers in the US wanted Halal products the Starbucks would cater to their requests if it meant that they will gain more customers and then more profits. So these big companies are anyone's for the taking and dont have any morals to stand on. They will sell themselves to the highest bidder.

The idea of opening a business, is to make profit, through serving as many customers as possible, is it not?

Last I checked, a business that sells coffee, is fully entitled to decide what goes on the cups.
