I got to be a (teeny tiny) part of the Super Bowl this year! It was the most magical and exhilarating experience of my life thus far. Dancers and other students from my college were invited to participate in the halftime show as the audience members surrounding the stage. Sorry to drop a brag bomb but I'm still floating with elation about it all, haha. It was just seriously amazing. That actual game was awesome, too. Go, Peyton! :)

Summer, I am so sorry for you that diversity lost the Super Bowl. There is always next year.
It was a shredding in context of the majority of the pre-game analysis and the fact Carolina was favored to win.
I wonder how Vegas came out of it.

Yes the point differential was greater than anyone imagined, even the most optimistic Broncos fan.

The audience members dressed in black are students at Stanford, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. (Though I was shivering and put a dark gray sweater on over my black shirt, haha).

Most excellent. That would be awesome actually being on the field. I am glad you got to be there.

Same here.
I thought it was great the way the fans all participated to in making the whole stadium into one glorious picture at the end.
Do the invited members who are on the field for the half time performances get to meet the musical talent that's there too?

I still think this is one of the best half-time performances ever:

It's a shame that no one artist can headline an entire halftime show anymore.

The "bump" that an artist gets commercially is so powerful. That's why Beyonce released material last week ahead of her appearance. Nobody can say she's not all about capitalism.

I think it has to do with media fragmentation too. We get our entertainment from so many sources that they now have to play to those different demographics, so Coldplay for "old people" (they're not even that old), Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars because that's what was on the radio over the summer, and Beyonce because she is a current megastar... but they still don't just make it one artist. It was the same last year.

It was a spectacular half time show.
It's all about the marketing. And I think it's great that a diverse genre of artists come together to make music at half time.

It says the video can't be played here but I'll watch it on YouTube. Can you see yourself in it? How did you guys get picked for that? That would have been incredible for real. :) :) :)

Actually Cam Newton's childish behavior during the press conference was less of an issue to me than his disrespectful behavior during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner by Lady Gaga.

He did not remove his cap as he should have and held his hands up to his neck instead of placing his right hand over his heart.. He showed no respect at all for our nation.
Blasphemy!!
Also, why is he looking up with his eyes closed?
Looks like he is in some kind of trance. Perhaps he is praying to Allah or Buddha?

".......black cap thingee". LOL

Guess it was too much for Cam Newton to remove that black cap thingee he was wearing during the national anthem.
But he’s just another who demands respect with little in return. Surprised he didn’t exploit the anthem to display his Gatorade money towel.............................
