Zechariah

Do you think the man that was seen to ride a red horse and stands among the myrtle trees is the angel that talks to Zechariah? Then did Zechariah hear the horses that were behind that man/angel speak?


I also wondered where the horns were that Zechariah saw. Why didn't he mention seeing them on a beast, or /on one of the horses? But horns in this chapter can mean - rays of light.

I think the horns might relate to the four horns that were at the corners of the stone table, where they did animal sacrifice. The horns might have been something to do with the cherubs, worked into the design of the table, going back to the earliest days.
I'd have to study it for a good while to try and reach conclusions, the men on the horses were probably angels, I don't think that angels have wings or fly, only the cherubs and seraph have wings, and they seem to stay in heaven. There might be other types of angels.
The horses might not have any symbolic meaning, regards colour. The men on the horses spoke. As I read it, there was a chestnut coloured horse, a white horse, and two red horses.. but it might have been like the red heifer; a reddish colour, different from chestnut.

In Isaiah 6, one of the seraphim flew to Isaiah.

Yes...but the fact that it was a vision should help you understand that the result of this vision resulted in Isaiah's call to be God's prophet.

The vision he saw spiritually made him a prophet. He was filled with the Spirit to speak only what God wanted him to speak...that's what the burning coals represent...Isaiahs words being the pure words of God!

How about Isaiah 6:8:
8Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
9 He said, “Go, and tell this people:

That's the point...the vision of Isaiah was how he was filled.

However...knowing you pick and choose what you want to believe from scripture...you may as well "flip a coin"...

I think everyone does that to a certain extent. Opinions are based on other peoples opinions. Accumulation of knowledge is based on trust.

I don't...but I've done serious study on the manuscript evidence as well as the textual criticism of the scriptures.

There's more evidence to confirm the scriptures than any other writings of antiquity in the world...ANY.

It's up to you whether you want to look into it though. I couldn't serve a God that couldn't preserve his word. A God that can raise the dead as well as part the Red Sea, can certainly preserve his word.

I think He did a very good job of it....
