He wasn't an elf either, not even a half-elf. He was killed during the last battle against the beasts as he was trying to get away from them. A few years later he re-appeared, he was a vampire and his skin was paler, white, and his eyes were red. It wasn't known but Zaras was behind the death of Zetari; he attacked Zetari from behind and sucked a large amount of blood the day before he died, then knocked Zetari unconscious. Zetari had forgotten about the encounter.
