I wanted to share this young preacher's church's website http://www.calvarypetaluma.org/ with you all. I had the opportunity to attend this church for 6 weeks back in October and was blow away by how God was using this young man (24) in ministry. His sermons can be downloaded from the site for free. WARNING - he is not Calvinist however.

One small word of caution is in order here, though. Zach is definately preterist (believes in the pre-tribulation rapture) and dispensationalist (believes that the promises of the OT apply to non-saved Israelites).

i don't believe either of these statements are true.
preterist believe that most or many of the prophecies of end times refer to 70AD and 130AD

rapture of all types is pre-mills

the statement about dispensationalists seems awkward, at best.

i can't seem to find anything in writing on his sermons, only audio and since i don't have a sound card even....

curiously i googled:
Zach Vestnys theology - did not match any documents
just a odd result, i know calvary chapel only as the nondenominational denomination that sings alot. at this point, it is proving hard to learn more. i can't find anything in writing...rats.

for grins and giggles i googled
about 1,700 for "rmwilliamsjr" theology
so i really really should have hit something before....

24 is barely old enough to finish college and seminary, let alone have been a musican.
but thanks for making me aware of him, if you have anything in writing, post a link, i'll be glad to read it. always looking for recommendations like your OP.

rare among modern creeds but certainly in line with the anathema writings of the 17thC.

I like reading modern creeds, thanks for the pointer, they really show what debates are important to the people writing them.

You are right - thanks for setting me straight - I'll update the blog to reflect this. In all my studies of theology I tend to get my terms mixed up.... I have a long way to go before I am an expert...

Were not the 'Calvary Chapel' congregations started by Chuck Smith and are charismatic? Brought that up from long ago when in CA and my brother listened to his tapes as he traveled in business on the road a lot.
