You look for escape routes and potential enemies whenever you go out in public. Did that at the mall once.

"I could take that guard out from here...."

LOL I've done that many times. Or when I was playing Vice City alot I'd be in traffic looking around at the other vehicles and deciding which one I'd rather jack.
:sorry:

ROFL, I do that every time no matter where I am. That and I look for something that I can use as a weapon in case something happens.

I have a super nintendo emulator for my computer, and I often find myself trying to hit the "rewind" key, to do something over in my life. Wouldn't that be cool, a rewind key, to go back 5 minutes and do something different. It would be bad for certain circumstances, though, rewind to change a situation, no consequences would mean that we might not be learning lessons from our wrongs.

I frequently catch myself looking at the lower right of my windshield when driving to check the compass on my HUD.

I was just out looking for my cat and when I spotted movement 100 yards away, I tried to zoom in like I was playing Ghost Recon. :D

When I was playing System Shock 2 the first time, I developed a phobia of security cameras and actually jumped once in a bank when I was looking around while waiting for a teller and spotted one pointing towards me.

Any similar stories?
Not like that one:D......but I have sat so long playing that both legs went to sleep and my rear was kinda glued to the seat :D

You know you have played too many games when...
  • You fall asleep at the computer and awake to find your hands in the correct position for a shooter.
  • When entering a building, you mentally start thinking of a plan to secure the building when your entry team arrives.
  • When walking in public or in a building, you are constantly alert for "threats."
  • When walking in public or in a building, you are constantly scanning your area for "cover."
  • You have several music CDs containing the best songs off the soundtracks
  • The salesrep at your favorite game store knows you on a firstname basis.
  • When stuck in a crowded area, you wish you had a flash bang to help clear out the area so you can go about your merry way.
  • You have built a level based on floorplans of your work place.
  • Your spouse/SO knows: who the main characters of the game are, weapon strengths and weaknesses, unit strengths and weaknesses, unit names, jargon used in the game, etc. Surprisingly, they have never played the game in their life.
  • You wake up one night asking where a family member is, e.g. daughter, because you have a hold full of cargo for them. (that actually happened to me after Freelancer came out. I asked my wife where our daughter was, because I had a ship full of cargo for her. My wife simply replies, "Just dock after the next trade lane and she will get it tommorow."
  • You use jargon from a game in your everyday speech. e.g. "Taffer"
  • You have taken a day off from work to buy a new release and play it uninterrupted.
